The Rap Sheet - from the Crimefighter
Capital City Championship Wrestling
5/1/2K4 - Springfield, IL
Decided to give them a second chance...
This rap sheet is posted in news:rec.sport.pro-wrestling.info
a newsgroup many wrestling organizations could utilize to promote their
shows worldwide but don't, and the archive of all previous rap sheets
at the Rap Sheet Dossier are in http://rap-sheet.tripod.com.
Okay, I'm quite late with this considering that this is a short
show. Been a tough week at work where it's been not much activity
then five people get hit with the latest in viruses and spyware and the
tools you're using aren't getting rid of them cause they're new
creations. Oh yeah, seems a strike could be looming too out
there, and thus I won't get to buy a house this year.
I watched the first CCCW show on videotape from someone who was given
permission to camcord the event last week. Since I got to watch
the first show for free, it's only fair that I attended a show in
person. I made ANOTHER attempt to find the place, and this time I
found it, only because they had big poster in the window that I had to
have missed last time. Oh yeah, the building is FOR SALE
too. Attendance this week was somewhere between 60-70, I counted
the numbers before the show started, seemed a couple more people came
in after the show began. There were a total of 120 chairs set
up. Last week they claimed the show was a sellout, it's just that
half the people who bought tickets didn't show up. I don't buy
that. If it was a sellout, there would have been 120 fans inside
the building or at least sold 120 tickets. Yet they put the
sellout claim in their program
anyway. It's just BS that isn't true, and more pathetic when the
target number is real low to begin with.
Two people who tried to attend the show were turned away due to last
year's incident, referenced in the 4/17/2K4 rap sheet. The fed
owner did not trust that one of the two who was involved in that near
gang fight wouldn't cause a major disruption if any of their wrestlers
did a certain move in the ring during the show. I thought it was
childish, but since I wasn't there to see what exactly transpired, I
don't really know. The scars from that incident are still running
very deep, to the point there's a list of who's welcome and who isn't,
at least until they can get together at a neutral location to settle
their issues.
Live from the nameless building at 1300 N. 19th Street. The ring
announcer is still unknown and unseen.
The three Irishmen come out first, those being Seamous & Mickey the
McNelson Bros. with manager Patrick MuGroin. Sheesh, with a name
like MuGroin I can see what this guy has such a bad attitude.
MuGroin runs his mouth saying we all get in for free cause we're a
bunch of freeloaders. He's demanding respect for his tag
team. He passes the mike to Mickey. Mickey runs his mouth
about the opposition from two weeks ago and how he gave him an Irish
arsekicking. He's gonna fight Justin Blade this week, the
hardcore match didn't impress him so he's gonna kick him in the
butt. He passes the mike to Seamous, the "strongest" man in
Ireland. He runs his mouth about his last match being a big waste
of time. He's gonna wrestle Billy Reno. He runs his mouth some
more, bashing Reno and I finally give them the USA chant as they leave.
Kandi Deluxe 5'11" 150lbs. Jolly Ranch, Atlanta, GA vs. Chuck Diamond
5'8" 172lbs. Deep Side of the Dark Side - Kandi hands out candy of
course. Lockup, slap Chuck, headlock takedown. Slap Kandi,
hip toss, drop kick out. Kandi wanders over and gets neck snapped
from the outside, hammerlocks get traded, drop toe hold Chuck,
shoveoff, Kandi with a sloppy hip toss. Whip inverted atomic
drop, slam Kandi. Whip big boot Kandi gets two. LOW BLOW
Chuck, choke. Chuck kicks away in the corner, Kandi flips him
around and kicks away. Whip Kandi, corner splash misses and he
nearly sails over the top. Chuck whip rolling clothesline,
bulldog gets two. Backbreaker Chuck gets two. Running elbow
Chuck, Boston Crab. Nemesis comes out. Rock bottom Chuck
gets two. Rear chinlock Chuck, Kandi elbows out, flying
clothesline Kandi. Russian leg sweep without hooking the leg gets
two, bulldog gets two. Kandi gets in the face of Nemesis, he
slugs him. Chuck with the 619 gets two. Nemesis tries to
powder Kandi and misses, KICK WHAM STUNNER gets Kandi the pin.
Kandi needs to relearn how to do a hip toss, or else he's trying too
hard not to clip the ceiling. This match was okay.
WINNER: Kandi Deluxe pin -> 8 mins. **½
The next match was supposed to be Sam Stockwell versus "The Prowler"
but Stockwell is a no-show and stuffing his face at the Olive
Garden. The Prowler is 5'6" 130lbs. from the darkness of
night. Besides being dressed like a goof wearing a black cape and
mask, he talks goofy with "It feels good to hunt" written on his
shirt. His music doesn't fit him though, it's not a song I'd
associate with bulgarly. He issues an open challenge for another
opponent since Stockwell ain't here.
Out come Nemesis and Leo Lagossi and they proceed to beat him with
applying the crippler crossface and the sharpshooter then dump him
outside. BTW, THEIR music doesn't relate to heelish characters
either! Uh yeah. Nemesis has the mike, he taunts him then
throws him back in the ring to beat him some more, pulls the shirt up
for Leo to chop him then dumps him out. Those two trash the
"stupid" crowd, and trash the dumb tennis player who messed up moves
badly last week. Now he invokes religion into this, cause it's so
stupid I'm not gonna reprint this crap, but it's obvious Leo Lagossi
still have the ideas of the cult of RON in him or something and Nemesis
is spewing the same BS. Then Nemesis says he renounces his
citizenship along with the chef. Uh nice.
Billy Reno 5'4" 154lbs. Reno, NV w/ April Casino & Mindy Vegas vs.
Seamous McNelson (O'Malley?) 6'3" 275lbs. Belfast, Ireland w/ Pat
McGroin & Mickey McNelson - Well the program says McNelson, but the
ring announcer says O'Malley. Okay, whatever. NOW we hear a
bell! Shameous is billed at 375lbs, but I think it's 275
really. And this is a big mismatch. Slap Seamous,
hammerlock, headlock Reno, side suplex Shameous. Turnbuckle smash
Shameous, whip corner, splash misses. Reno chops away, he charges
with a back splash, crossbody is caught. Seamous with a slam,
legdrop gets two. Facebreaker Seamous, they go outside, back ram
into the post, bearhug into the post, toss in. Reno tries to beat
him back, clip, drop kick of the knee, figure four attempt
blocked. Chokeslam Seamous who drops him on his side, one foot
cover gets two. Whip crash by Seamous, teases the stinkface but
just farts on him instead. He chops away, choke, whip Bubba slam
wins it. They were smart not letting the match run as long as
last week against his tag partner. Nothing special though.
WINNER: Seamous McNelson pin -> 9:30 mins. **
They then bring out "America's favorite superhero" Chip Conway.
Uh, has America even heard of this guy? Conway then starts
talking about his opponents later tonight, which are the chef and
Nemesis. He says after the show last week, they jumped Ace
Dorrity and broke his arms, his legs, his spine and ended his tennis
and wrestling careers. Ooookay. This is nonsense. The
3CW board says no table match tonight, but Conway says he's gonna do
the table match anyway in a handicap match. He says the red,
white and blue is coming for you. Time out. We know Ace
Dorrity did a horrible job last week, so you'd think he's been pulled
for some retraining but that isn't the reason why. Turns out
Dorrity was arrested for going AWOL and was sent to California to face
charges. To patch up this show with the holes left open by these
factors what they should had done is change the main event to a
one-on-one and put the other guy in a squash match against Prowler
since Stockwell didn't show up. But they didn't do that, so we're
stuck with a damaged main event and one match less than promised.
Vampire Kaval 5'10" 150lbs. Death Valley, CA vs. Tommy the Machine Gun
6'3" 215lbs. Detroit, MI - Sheesh, this vampire is creepy, but he's no
Gangrel. Kaval shoulderblocks in the corner, he slugs away.
Kaval with a tornado DDT, splash gets two. Tommy slugs away, knee
to the gut, elbow, chop, whip Kaval hits a flying shoulderblock.
Crossbody attempt is caught, Kaval manages to slip out, shining
wizard. Tommy with a back body drop that Kaval scrapes the
ceiling with his shoes. Ah, that low ceiling. Double
chokeslam Tommy gets two. Clothesline Kaval, elbow on the apron,
they're outside! Tommy with a DDT on the floor, apron slams, toss
in, pumphandle slam, ROCK BOTTOM gets three! See maybe they just
need to keep the matches at a shorter length in the early going so they
don't embarass themselves or bore everyone when it goes too long.
*shrug*
WINNER: Tommy the Machine Gun pin -> 4:40 mins. **¼
And they take an intermission, which I have to ask why they even bother
with given that this is only a two hour show and there are only 5-6
matches in all. Just doesn't seem to be a need for one. The
Irish tag team does have a name, the Irish Revolution, and they're out
here again.
Mickey McNelson 6'0" 305lbs. Belfast, Ireland w/ Pat McGroin vs. Justin
Blade 5'10" 196lbs. Oceanside, CA - Lockup, shove. Side suplex by
Mickey, clothesline. Headlock Blade, shoveoff, flying forearm
Blade. Kipup, Blade slugs and kicks away, Mick flips him over and
slugs away, whip back body drop Mick, spinebuster. Mick misses
the legdrop, Blade slugs away. Mick with a whip clothesline at
the waist. Whip flying hurraconranna Blade, they go outside,
Seamous KOs Blade and beats him outside while the dumb dimwitt referee
yaks with McGroin. Toss in, Mick with a second rope
fistdrop. Mick whip, Blade kicks him, he tries a springboard and
SLIPS. Blade does a legdrop for two instead. Kick, flipover
bulldog Blade, whip reversed Mick with a splash and a bulldog.
Mick tosses him, Blade is hangs on the ropes, pulls himself up and
headscissors Mick out. Blade kicks away, McGroin is back on the
apron, Seamous with a clothesline outside, then they beat him with a
belt. Geez, this ref's a moron. Mick yaks with Seamous
until Blade superkicks him. Mick hammers him, chops away, whip
spinebuster then goes to chat some more before finally covering for
two. Geez, are you here to wrestle or talk? Blade tries a
superkick and misses, Mick misses the clothesline, superkick Blade hits
the mark and end it. Too much interference in this one.
WINNER: Justin Blade pin -> 11:15 mins. **¾
Handicap Tables Match
Nemesis 6'4" 225lbs. Parts Unknown & former cult member "The
Iron Chef" Leo Lagossi 6'0" 240lbs. Paris, France vs. "Golden Eagle"
Chip Conway 6'1" 155lbs. USA - Oh great, it's a handicap match.
Takedown, drop toe hold Chip, hammerlock, sloppy fireman's takeover by
Nemesis. Armbar Nemesis slap, whip hard slap by Chip and Nemesis
leaves. Drop kick on the Chef out of the ring, baseball slide
drop kick on the duo. Chip head slam on the table, Nemesis with a
sloppy spinebuster. Tag Chef. Back breaker Chef, snap
suplex, here comes the table. Chef chops Chip, snap mare.
Reverse standing figure four (maybe Indian deathlock not sure), tag
Nemesis, table is put in the corner. Nemesis with a suplex, tag
Chef. Double sloppy chokeslam, shoulder break by the Chef.
Nemesis wants to powerbomb Conway through the table, the Prowler comes
out to stop it. Chef is tossed in, double whip Nemesis hits the
Chef by mistake. The Irishmen then come out and they beat on
Prowler and Conway. What a mess this has become. Nemesis
and Chef powerbomb Chip through the table to end it. Adam Deacon
with the death valley driver on Prowler. They should had made
this a singles match, and the stupid run-ins did NOTHING for it
either. Sheesh, I wrote *½ for this, it wasn't.
WINNERS: Nemesis & "Iron Chef" Leo Lagossi KO -> 7 mins. DUD
Kandi Deluxe runs out, KICK WHAM STUNNER on Mickey, but gets thrown
into Seamous for the chokeslam. Nemesis gets the American flag
and spits and stomps on it. I try the "you sold out" chant, but
not for the reasons you think. The Irish Invasion raise their
hands with Nemesis and the Chef to end the show. Nemesis tries
throwing Prowlers shirt into the crowd and it gets hang on the ceiling
fan, haha. The ring announcer says to come back for another show
in two weeks, that being the 15th.
The Verdict: Well I can say the matches were better than the last
show, but that's because they had no where to go but up. And I
talked a long while with the Chef about it. He admits they are
gonna suck for the first six shows or so getting better in the ring
before they have their first major show at a different location without
the low ceiling. Only four average matches, but one crappy main
event.
Thumbs down. I'd rather by watching NMW.
