The WWF for some reason or another didn't do ANY sort of tribute at all to Crash Holly until the best of RAW special during Christmas week. Crash had departed from the WWF on somewhat bad terms and ended up going to NWA TNA earlier in the year. So...I, the Crimefighter, am going to write up a Crash Holly tribute by looking back at some of his matches!

Leading off, we start with the video that got Crash Holly into the WWF in the first place!

Hardcore Match
Crash Holly (Leprechaun Erin O'Grady) vs. Vicious Vic Grimes - Vic Grimes also got into the WWF via this video, but did not have anywhere close to the level of success Crash did. Wonder why? This is from 1997, Crash has BLACK hair, and Vic Grimes is dressed like Mick Foley's Mankind gimmick. Crash shoots under Grimes, tries to whip him off the ropes but Grimes clotheslines him down. Slam by Grimes, off the 2nd rope with a straight backwards senton. Grimes with a slam, elbow off the second misses. Crash with an armbar, off the ropes flying headscissors. Crash with a headscissors off the top ropes. Crash with a whip clothesline Grimes. Grimes whip spinning side slam off a fireman's carry. Grimes with a slam, to the second rope, hits an elbow. Grimes yanks Crash from the corner and he foolishly held the ropes. Grimes goes for the fireman's carry side slam again but gets headscissored down. Crash drop kicks Grimes out, he follows, Crash blasts Grimes with the "Pot of Gold"...that's empty. Grimes blasts Crash with some weapon. Grimes tries a chairshot as the fans scatter, Crash blocks it and nails him. Crash rams Grimes into the doorway, Crash with a headscissors off the post. Crash pulls down the garage door, but Grimes shoves him into it. Yes this is STILL a small facility. Grimes rams Crash into a closet, then raids it for tools. He's got a hard hat on, and nails Crash with a coal shovel. Another shot misses and hits the post. Crash nails him with the shovel. Toss back in the ring, Crash gets two. Crash goes for the flying headscissors again but gets inverted powerbombed face first. Grimes with a regular powerbomb, then with a elbow on the apron sending Crash to the floor. Grimes takes Crash outside and bashes him into a wooden palette. Crash whacks him with something, small package gets two. LOW BLOW Grimes, backbreaker Grimes, he whacks Crash with a palette, lays him on top, does a senton off a car and misses. Crash rams Grimes into a car, clothesline. Crash pulls someone out of a car who happened to have their pants down, and rams Grimes with a CAR! Cover only gets two. What was that, prostitution going on in there? Grimes drops Crash on the car hood, gets a chair and whacks him. Toss in the ring, Grimes with a slam, he goes up, senton misses. Crash got a trash can, but gets LOW BLOWED. Someone called the Gigolo is in the ring to run interference, and nails Grimes with the trash can. Crash pickup, whip reverse kick powerbomb into a neckbreaker by Grimes wins it.

WINNER: Vicious Vic Grimes pin -> 16 mins. **½

APW Tag Team Championship 2/3 Falls
(c)The Grimes Bros. - Vicious Vic & Little Dic w/ Miss Brenda vs. Crash Holly (Leprechaun Erin O'Grady) & Chris Cole - There's an ECW chant I could hear. And the display of a VCR indictator is visible throughout this match, bleh. The Grimes come in riding in a car, first fall, brawl in the ring, they ram the faces together, then splash them like a pancake. Vic rams Crash into the car, the tape is skipping like crazy, Cole gets knocked outside. Vic sets Crash up on the car, Crash stands up and hits a springboard clothesline. Vic with a clothesline on Crash, Dic puts Cole in the ring to beat on, Vic rams Crash into the car, the camera misses a high-impact move by Crash on Vic. Vic is tossed into the wall, Dic drops Cole on the stairrail. Crash tosses Vic in, camera missed a cerael box blast. Vic with a powerbomb into a Diamond Cutter on Crash gets the pin at 4:30 minutes. They shoot the hood of the car with some woman standing next to it. It's all dented up.

Second fall, Crash and Vic start the second fall, Vic whip elbow. Forearm, tag Dic, whip drop toe hold, legdrop doubleteam. Dic shoves Crash in the corner, whip back splash Dic. Dic whip, Crash hops off his back but gets caught in a powerslam by Vic. Vic with an elbow, Crash tries to fight back and tags Cole. Cole kicks away, whip splash, snap mare, elbow off the ropes gets two. Cole whip reverse spinning side slam by Vic. Vic tags Dic, whip elbow by Dic. Dic with a slam, someone attacks the Grimes manager, JR Benson. Camera focuses on Brenda being attended to by Vic. He leaves with her, Crash has taken over on Dic, Cole tagged in, drop kick to the face gets two. Belly to belly suplex by Cole, tag Crash, goes up, snap mare, splash from the top gets two. Crash whip splash, tag Cole. Double whip double clothesline gets two. Superkick to the back of the head by Cole, tag Crash. Snap mare Crash, slam, he waits on him, springboard hurraconranna, Cole with a legdrop off the top gets three at 12 minutes.

Third fall, Little Dic is wondering where his partner is, Cole attacks, whip kick Cole. Whip powerslam by Little Dic. Crash is tagged in, whip reverse side slam Dic. Dic whip reverse atomic knee, chokeslam gets two. Tag Cole double whip double DDT by Dic. Vicious Vic finally returns, Dic whip kick, chokeslam reversed into a DDT. Tag Cole, whip to the corner, he kicks away, whip elbow by Dic. Tag Vic. Shortarm clotheslines, slam on Crash, whip boot on Cole. Powerbomb on Crash, whip clothesline on the head on Cole. Vic whip jockey for a move, clothesline on Cole. Vic whip leapfrog Cole, superkick. Tag Dic, double team Diamond Cutter on Cole wins it at 17:20 minutes.

WINNERS and STILL CHAMPS: The Grimes Bros. (2-1) pin, pin -> 17:20 mins. **

Lots of bad camera work didn't do this match justice I'm afraid. Crash checks on Cole who's injured and needs a stretcher.

And now to the next match, apparently someone named Joe Applebomb was supposed to wrestle Robert Thompson, but he no-showed the event so he was booted out of the APW promotion. The promoter requests three people from the back to challenge Thompson in his place to be voted on by the fans. The three men are Crash Holly, Donovan Morgan, and Maxx Justice. Roland Alexander has each men explain why it should be him. Justice says he should be him cause he's beaten the guy and his physical attributes are superior to being champ. Roland puts the mike in Morgan's pot, then Morgan explains his reasons next. Crash then says it should be him cause he beat Michael Modest among other reasons. Now the fans vote, Justice gets some noise but not a lot, Morgan gets less than that, and Crash gets more than both of them. So the winner of the vote is Donovon Morgan. Justice is mad about the vote and isn't responsible for what happens in the ring. Crash now jumps in the ring to ask why he didn't get the vote. Then he says he's signed a contract for ECW and he's leaving cause he wasn't getting the push. He calls for Thompson to come back, which he does. Crash mocks Thompson for wrestling in a garage, then starts cussing out the fans and wants to leave for the springboard promotions to the WWF. Crash mocks Thompson for not going to ECW when it was offered to him. Thompson says he didn't leave cause APW is his roots. Crash says he was told before he came to ECW he was to kill Thompson's butt. Thompson responds that Crash was chosen second by ECW then calls Morgan out again. Crash calls turning down ECW was the stupidiest move he's ever made. Now Crash is cursing like crazy. Thompson says Morgan has agree to let Crash take his place and he was being brainwashed by ECW. BTW, whoever turned this into a video file should not had let that LP time message show throughout and that darn tape skips every time they switch camera angles. The video switcher obviously didn't work that great. Match is from Oct. 1997.

Robert "Brown Bomber" Thompson vs. Crash Holly (Leprechaun Erin O'Grady) - Fans are chanting "you sold out" at Crash. Crash is wearing an ECW t-shirt, and curses out the crowd again. Thompson slugs Crash, elbow, whip clothesline in the corner and Crash bails. Thompson rams him in the apron, then the wall. Crash rolls in and bails again then leaves the arena but Vic Grimes drags him out of the back and tosses him in. Crash tries to leave through another exit but a wrestler stops him no matter where he goes. Thompson slugs him in the corner, whip hip toss, clothesline. Thompson brainbuster gets two. Thompson drop kick, running knee drop, slam, he goes up, flying senton misses. Crash gets on top of Thompson and slugs away. Crash whip clothesline gets two. Crash puts on the camel clutch but lets go of it. Crash pulls Thompson's shirt over his face and hits a drop kick. Crash with a slam, goes up, flying punch misses. Thompson slugs away, running powerbomb, whip powerslam, impaler DDT, then puts on a suspended surfboard with rear chinlock and Crash gives it up. Pretty much a squash.

WINNER: Robert Thompson submission -> 7:45 mins. **

Thompson has the mike again, he tells Crash he should had never took the ECW contract but if he ever shows his face in APW again he'll kick his butt. Now get outta here Crash! Now a pair of masked men attack Thompson with a kendo stick and trash can. Diamond cutter from the top through a trash can, and APW guys are being fended off with a chair and kendo stick. One masked man runs his mouth and they ID themselves as the West Side Players and threaten to stab him with a knife. Michael Modest manages to get in the ring to fight then the Grimes Bros. manage to run them off. Modest cusses out Crash on the mike then leaves. Several people attend to the injured Thompson.

"Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels 215lbs. Sin City & Michael Modest 275lbs. New York City, NY vs. Crash Holly 248lbs. Dublin, Ireland & The Suicide Kid 224lbs. Venice Beach, CA - This match was shot for the Beyond the Mat movie, though I don't quite remember seeing this in there. Daniels is sporting black hair here. Crash supposedly had his "last" match for APW eleven months ago from when this took place in Sept. 1998. Modest and Crash start the match. Lockup, shove Crash, shoulderblock Modest, sunset flip by Crash after several moves are blocked getting one. Tag Daniels, tag Suicide Kid. Lockup, headlock Kid, shoveoff, shoulderblock Kid gets one. Rollup Kid gets one, chops, shoulderblock sends them both down. Lockup, armdrag Kid, hip toss. Hip toss Daniels, drop kicks, monkey flip but Kid lands on his feet. Tag Modest, lockup shoveoff Modest, shoulderblock Kid, powerbomb reversed into a hurraconranna by Kid, baseball slide, then a springboard moonsault off the ropes to the floor. Daniels checks on Modest and Crash does a flip on them. Tag Crash, double whip double elbow. Crash whip clothesline, tag Kid. Double whip, drop toe hold Kid, legdrop Crash. Kid whip flying elbow, tag Crash. Kid whip drop kick Crash gets two. Modest with a shot to the gut, uppercut, tag Daniels, drop toe hold Crash, tag Kid, double whip double hip toss, double elbows. Kid powerslam, moonsault off the ropes barely connects with an arm, splash off the top by Crash gets two. Rake by Daniels, tag Modest, hip toss Crash, tag Kid, double whip double drop kick. Kid suplex, tag Crash, slingshot leg drop gets one, tag Kid. Punch from the second rope by Kid, piledriver, tag Crash, axe on the side of Modest gets two. Blind tag to Daniels, shoveoff by Crash, Daniels yanks him down by the hair, Modest clotheslines Crash from the backside. Daniels belly to belly suplex, tag Modest, double tag snap mare, double drop kick on the mat. Modest with a knee, slam, elbow, tag Daniels. He nails Crash and Kid. Crash is dropped on the top rope, tag Modest, whip clothesline Modest. Press slam of Daniels by Modest onto Crash gets two. Modest with arms locked around the neck and suplexes him over. Tag Daniels, a few forearms and he throws him out. Daniels chops him outside among the crowd, whip toward the post by Daniels, it's reversed, Daniels hops on the apron, into the ring and hits a running drop kick between the ropes to the outside. Daniels with a suicide dive on Crash and Kid. Crash is tossed in, cover gets two. Daniels whip sunset flip Crash but Modest is tagged in. Chokeslam by Modest, whip reversed by Crash and there's a collison as both men tries to throw a clothesline. Modest with an inverted snap mare of sorts, tag Daniels. Daniels kicks both men, toss out by Daniels and the crowd has to move again. Modest throws Crash back in, Daniels with an armbar while sitting on the shoulder, rams Crash into the corner, tag Modest. Modest flips the double bird, gets rolled up for one, clothesline Modest, tag Daniels, Modest tries for a move with Daniels up top, Crash slingshots hit into Daniels crotching him. Tag Suicide Kid. Clothesline on Modest, drop kick on Daniels, slams for all, tag Crash. Double drop kick on both men. Kid tries an inverted atomic drop on Modest but throws him down on his face instead! Tag Crash again though he was the legal man. Crash with a slingshot hurraconranna on Modest getting two. Daniels is tagged in, inverted airplane spin into a crash landing (made famous by Al Perez) gets two. Kid jumps in to fight with Daniels, gets sunset flipped, Daniels with a LEAPING pedigree! Tag Modest, who covers for two. Ref has lost track of who's legal it seems. Modest with a DDT on the Kid, Boston Crab but Crash tries to kick him off, Modest finally clobbers Crash with a chokehold DDT. Side suplex by Modest, chokehold suplex gets two. Tag Daniels, whip kick by Kid, tag Crash who runs into a boot from Daniels, Daniels tries a powerbomb, Crash tries to reverse it into a DDT but they both drop to the mat. Crash covers for two, Modest comes in, Kid grabs Modest and hits an inverted death valley driver, both men cover getting two. Crash is tagged, though he was the legal man, tradeoff of chops between Daniels and Crash, whip Daniels, inverted swinging neckbreaker by Daniels! Cover gets two, Modest breaks it up, full nelson suplex by Modest and he throws Kid out. Death valley driver by Modest, slam, Daniels hits a moonsault and pins Crash.

WINNERS: Christopher Daniels & Michael Modest pin -> 19:15 mins. ****½

One wonders why Christopher Daniels and Michael Modest never made it into the WWF or WCW. Actually Daniels and Modest got a match with WCW and Little Porker Punk Scott Steiner RUINED IT unwittingly helping put WCW OUT OF BUSINESS and giving the WWE WMOTY PPV main events! Daniels tells the crowd that Modest is having a match in the WWF in a few days. Well he didn't get signed. Modest gives a speech about the exposed business and says how much he's worked in the business using the F-word a few hundred times in the process.

APW Universal Heavyweight Championship
(c)"The Shooter" Tony Jones 265lbs. State University w/ Frank Murdoch, Shane Dynasty vs. Maoch 233lbs. Texas w/ Cherry Bomb - This match was from March of 2000. Finally APW is using a bigger facility. Lockup, Jones with a slap that makes Maoch mad. Lockup, armbar Jones, shovedown. Jones gets on all fours and wants Maoch to amateur wrestle him, Maoch tries to wrestle him down but Jones gets away. Maoch challenges Jones to wrestle him on the mat, Jones is slow to do it but just kicks him and drops the leg. Jones goes outside to argue with Cherry, Maoch goes after him and tosses him in. Whip elbow Maoch. Forearms, whip kick spinning neckbreaker Maoch gets two. Maoch with a slam, elbow gets two. Maoch hip toss, clothesline on the mat gets two. Maoch with another hip toss, ten punch count in the corner. Jones's men up on the apron, Maoch slugs them off. Maoch whip, Jones with a belly to belly northern lights suplex, fisherman's suplex gets two. Jones with a choke on the ropes, the henchmen join the chokefest, toss out Jones and the thugs beat down Maoch. Back in, Jones whip side slam gets two. Jones kicks away in the corner, chokes him, whip reversed Maoch gets nothing in the corner, belly to back suplex Jones. Side suplex Jones, two powerbombs by Jones. Someone's music hits, and it's hardcore champ Crash Holly! He blasts Jones's men with a chair. Jones goes out and screams at him for invading his house. Jones back in and powerslams Maoch, Crash grabs Jones leg and blasts him with a chair, Maoch with a rollup and pins him.

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: Maoch pin -> 11:05 mins. **½

Unfortunately I don't have anything else to look at other than these five matches, and I don't wish to put in stuff that had nothing to do with Crash so I'm gonna end the rap sheet here with a music video tribute:
