The Rap Sheet - from the Crimefighter
Special Streaming Video Edition #6

5/14/2K3

This rap sheet is posted in news:rec.sport.pro-wrestling.info a newsgroup that many wrestling organizations could utilize to spread info about their shows but don't, and the archive of all the ones I've written are stored in http://abermud.tripod.com/rapsheet.

As slow as the RSPWI posting queue is getting approved, I actually posted this on 5/12, but dated it 5/14. Last time I posted one of these I dated it 5/8 the day I posted it but didn't show up in the newsgroup until 5/10, so the date when you read this should actually match up. I’m about out of streaming videos in my search all over the Internet for them, so here’s probably the last one in the series for a while. This time it consists of WWF and WCW matches, all from one site in this case: http://www.wrestlinghit.com. The lineup:

World Wrestling Federation out of Connecticut

Rob Van Dam vs. Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig - WWF Intercontinental Title
The Undertaker vs. Kane
Mankind vs. Billy Gunn & Jesse James - WWF Tag Titles
X-Pac vs. Billy Kidman - WCW Cruiserweight Title

World Championship Wrestling out of Georgia

Bill Goldberg vs. La Parka - WCW US Title
Bill Goldberg vs. The Big Show - WCW World Title
Sting vs. Scott Hall - WCW World Title
War Games 1996 – NWO vs. WCW
War Games 1992 – Dangerous Alliance vs. Sting’s Squadron

WWF Intercontinental Title Match
(c)Rob Van Dam vs. "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig - This one was from the 3/24/2K2 broadcast of Heat. Intro of the combatants along with various promos of stuff. Michael Cole and Tazz provide commentary. RVD chants all over. Lockup, Hennig chops in the corner, whip reverse, shoulders to the gut by RVD. Hennig outside, but RVD pulls him up, Hennig rams him in the turnbuckle, then slugs away, does the head snap flip. Abdominal stretch by Hennig. RVD hip tosses him down, whip across, jumps over, lands a side kick. RVD with rolling thunder gets two. Forearms, whip across, monkey flip blocked, Hennig covers with the feet on the ropes for two. RVD with a roundhouse kick, to the top, five star splash gets three. Too short, and didn’t reflect what all these two were capable of.

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: Rob Van Dam pin -> 3:10 mins. ½*

"The American Badass" Undertaker vs. "The Big Red Machine" Kane - This is from Summerslam 2000. Intros are made, Undertaker goes after Kane in the aisle, fight outside, goes after the mask under he snaps Taker’s head on the top rope. Both inside the ring now, the ref doesn’t think of ringing the bell. Kane fetches a chair, Taker punches Kane in the belly to stop a chairshot, then hits Kane with the chair. Taker punches away at Kane then rips on the mask. Taker goes outside but gets rammed into the stairs set against the rail. Kane has the stairs, misses a shot and hits the post knocking himself silly. Taker has the stairs and throws it at Kane. Replay of the tossed stairs. Taker picks him up, punches away some more as Kane bleeds. Toss in the ring, LOW BLOW KANE, big punches by Kane, kicks, but here’s a spear by Taker. Takes him to the mat and goes for the mask again. Kane goes for the chokeslam, but Taker with a low blow. Yank down by the hair and he gets the mask off, Kane moves to the back while holding his face as Taker’s music plays. Sorry to say, there was never an official match here.

NO CONTEST -> no time, no rating

Hardcore Handicap Match - WWF Tag Titles
(c)"Mankind" Mick Foley vs. "The New Age Outlaws" Billy Gunn & Jesse James - This is from Summerslam 1998. Kane was the other co-champ but for some reason was not permitted to participate. Mankind yanks his hair out while holding a pan. The NAOs bring out a dumpster, and James says they’re taking back New York. Mankind hits them with the pan, fetches a chair. Gunn has a chair, and they slap them together. James steals Mankind’s chair and they beat him down. Another pan is fetched, Mankind fights back, the NAOs hit with their pans and do a panchairto. James with a pot, and whacks Foley in the back, Gunn is backdropped over the top. Foley grabs a pan and hits a charge on James. Foley with a neckbreaker on Gunn outside that gets two. James hits a running elbow on the apron. Mankind tries a suplex but Gunn makes the save. NAO rams Mankind into the dumpster. Here comes a table! Set up in the corner, Gunn tries to hip toss Foley but gets tossed himself thru the thing. Clothesline Foley on James. Belly to back, neckbreaker combo by the Outlaws get two. Two chairs set up, powerbomb through the chairs, cheap cover gets two. Spike piledriver by the Outlaws into a title belt get three. Gunn berates Mankind after the match the hothead.

WINNERS and NEW CHAMPS: The New Age Outlaws pin -> 5:20 mins. *

WCW Cruiserweight Title Match
(c)X-Pac vs. Billy Kidman - X-Pac had both the WCW Cruiserweight and WWF Light Heavyweight belts at this point, but for some strange reason, it was only for the cruiserweight belt. Lockup, go behind reversals, shoulderblock Kidman, flying headscissors. Whip reverse, hurraconranna Kidman gets two. Whip to the corner, X-Pac hurls Kidman into the post. Baseball slide dropkick by X-Pac on Kidman. Chop outside, toss in X-Pac, to the top rope, flying legdrop gets two. Headlock X-Pac, Kidman up, but a flying back kick knocks Kidman down. X-Pac to the top again, but Kidman hits a dropkick on the fly. Flying elbow, clothesline, enzigiri gets two for Kidman. Powerbomb Kidman, to the top rope, X-Pac knocks him down. X-Pac with a choke, then the broncobuster. X-Pac stands on the second rope to gloat, but Kidman yanks him down and gets two. Bulldog attempt off the top blocked, X-Factor gets two. Powerbomb attempt gets a facebuster by Kidman for two. Backslide X-Pac with the feet on the ropes get two. Whip to the corner Kidman, charge meets an elbow, X-Pac to the top rope, but Kidman facebusters him off the top for three and the title. Now the belts are split, and the cruiserweight title would be declared a WWF title, which X-Pac’s belt was retired along with his career in the WWF.

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: Billy Kidman pin -> 4:45 mins. **½

Okay, now to jump headfirst into the graveyard that was WCW BEFORE the merger.

WCW US Heavyweight Title Match
(c)Bill Goldberg vs. La Parka - Commentary is in German as the WMV was made in Germany. I can tell you right now, the ring introductions take up more than half of the file. La Parka comes out with a chair and he gets a great reaction from the crowd. WCW was stupid to let this guy go during the trimming of the belt cause he was one of the most interesting guys of the luchadore roster. WWF is just as stupid for not signing this guy. This match was back in 1998, when Goldberg had yet to get his world title shot. Goldberg has a spectacular ring entrance with the fireworks going off while he stands in the middle of it. Loud Goldberg chant. La Parka threatens with a chair, then Goldberg says bring it. La Parka with a chairshot that has no effect and he turns around and foolishly struts. Spear Goldberg, suplex into a powerslam...the jackhammer...1, 2, 3. Christian must had seen this one, cause he did about fifty chairshots on Goldberg during his cage match and STILL LOST. Vintage Goldberg, SQUASH!

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: Bill Goldberg pin -> 30 seconds. DUD

WCW World Heavyweight Title
(c)Bill Goldberg vs. The Big Show - The last one went so quick, so lets do one more. Video quality isn't that great on this one. The Giant hurls Goldberg into the corner, Goldberg fires back, Irish whip reverse clothesline Giant. Yes he was calling himself the Giant, but chokeslam Giant gets only two. Show can't believe it, but he should had known he's hardly worn out for it to end so quick. Chops Show have no effect, Goldberg knees him in the corner, Irish whip, spear, jackhammer suplex of 400+ lbs., 1..2..3! When's the last time you've seen the Big Show lose in a squash? ¼* for the feat of strength.

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: Bill Goldberg pin -> 1:35 mins. ¼*

WCW World Heavyweight Title
(c)Sting vs. Scott Hall w/ Dusty Rhodes - This is from Uncensored 1998 and the commentary is in German cause that’s where the video file was made. Sting was champ at this point. Hall snatches the belt and acts like he’s champ until Sting comes over to take it and then they start fighting. Lockup, arm wringer Hall, headbutts, but Sting shoves him down to the mat. Mark Curtis is the referee as Hall wants a strength test but kicks Sting, then tries a hip toss block, punch, then does a chokeslam. Gloats too long and Sting slams his head into the mat. Sting punches away and drop kicks him outside. Rhodes gives Hall a pep-talk. Hall in, Sting whips him, Dusty trips him. Hall clotheslines Sting on the apron but only gets a two count. Roundhouse punch, knockdown Hall. Irish whip to the corner and a clothesline Hall. Fallaway toss slam by Hall gets two. Stomp, punch, Hall continues slapping Sting around, shoveoff, collision, and Sting falls into Hall's groin. Mark Curtis is counting both men, Hall grabs Curtis, Dusty Rhodes sneaks in the ring and drops an elbow on Sting but that only gets two. Hall punches away again, Sting hulks up then fires back, atomic drop, Stinger splash, clothesline. Scorpion Death Lock but Dusty comes in, Sting knocks him off, Hall attacks, Sting throws him off and Hall crashes into Curtis. Sting over to check on him, Hall has a metal bar, bam! Very crappy cover only gets two however. Hall goes for the Razor's Edge, but Sting gets out of it, Scorpion Death Drop (reverse DDT) gets three! Sting gives Dusty the DX crotch chop sign.

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: Sting pin -> 8:30 mins. **

War Games 1996
The NWO - Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Fake Sting vs. The Four Horsemen - Lex Luger, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Sting – A change in the rules, everyone has to sit in the back that’s not in the ring, and we know why that rule change was made. Luger and Sting were members of the Horsemen at one time. Scott Hall and Arn Anderson will start the match. Hall slugs away on Arn. Arn turns it around and slugs Hall, then shoves him into the fence. Spreads the legs and kicks low. Whip across clothesline Hall. Hall rubs Arn on the ropes. Hall rams Arn’s head on the cage. Kick away on the mat by Hall. Hall rams Arn on the turnbuckle. Arn grabs the arm, wrings it, then goes to work on the leg. Tony, The Brain and Dusty are on commentary, discussing where Sting was all day. Hall crawls to the other ring, Arn follows but Hall meets him, then pounds away in the corner. Chokes away, boomerangs him up to the bottom rope. Arn goes low, then rams him into the turnbuckle, whip, punch to the gut. Sleeper Anderson. One minute to go, Hall side suplexes himself out of it. Hall goes to punch, whip reverse, spinebuster Anderson. Puts on a half-crab. Time for the next guy, it’s Kevin Nash. Arn meets him, punches away, but Hall grabs him. You know I’ve never seen a War Games where the good guys win the coin toss. Hall and Nash throw Anderson into the fence. Nash snake eyes Anderson. Druggie Luger is out EARLY, time hasn’t run out for him to come but he’s in there already fighting Hall and Nash hitting the bionic elbow repeatedly. Luger rams Hall’s head into the fence. Anderson and Luger just pound away on the bad guys. Here’s Hogan and he’s going after WCW, but they quickly take over. Nash comes to break it up, Nash hurls Lex into the cage. Hogan is working over Arn, but gets his face slammed into the fence. Hogan punches away on Arn, Nash and Hall punch away on Luger. Hogan legdrop on Arn. Choke by Hogan on Luger. Here comes Ric Flair. Flair taunts everyone to come after him, Hogan goes over and pounds away, whip across, clothesline misses, Flair hits away. The heels come in for Flair, low blows for them. Inverted atomic drop Arn on Hall. Figure four by Flair on Hogan. Out comes the fake Sting, though the announcers don’t know it’s a fake. Fake Sting pounds away on the faces with mostly chops. Everyone’s in one ring now. Hogan with a choke, then bash on the fence. Slam Flair by Hogan and a leg drop. Stinger splash by the Faker on all three of the good guys. Here comes the real Sting, dressed the same as the fake. Real Sting goes after the faker and bulldogs him down. Splash on Hogan and Hall, then Nash and the Faker. Bulldog Sting on Hall. Sting has words with Luger, then he LEAVES! And thus begins the horrible transition to the persona that I never liked, that being the Crow. The NWO quickly takes over, dominating the Horsemen. Flair chops away on Hall. Hogan side suplexes Luger. The Faker has the scorpion death lock on Luger, Hogan chokes him at the same time, and the refs stop it right there. The crowd could not believe what just transpired. The NWO gloats over what they’ve just succeeded in doing, then proceed to beat the Horsemen some more as the cage goes up. Luger is crawling down the aisle but Hogan goes over the stomp away, until Flair and Anderson join the fight, Nash gets low blowed, Macho Man out, and hurls Hogan in the ring. Here comes the Big Show, as Savage chases Hogan. Hall follows in, and the Big Show nails Savage, then chokeslams him down. The rest goes downhill from here in what was WCW’s greatest angle turns into it’s greatest curse.

WINNERS: The New World Order submission -> 18:15 mins. ***

Got one match left and it’s another long one, so I’m gonna wrap up the series on a high note with this classic. This one came from http://www.wrestlingzone.ru/mult/full.html:

Running clothesline by Austin over the other top rope, to the second rope, misses a swing kick and gets dumped down. Headfirst into the fence goes Austin. The audio is behind the video by ten seconds, ugh. Now Austin is having his face cheese grated and cut up with one minute to go. Barry bites on the cut, sick. Knee lift Barry. Medusa is climbing the cage and puts something in the ring. Sting is up there to confront her and drive her back down. Rude is ripping on Steamboat’s injured nose. Austin punches away on Windham. Larry Z rams Rhodes into the cage. Arn rams Rhodes in. Sleeper by Rude on Steamboat. Sting’s in next, and it should be noted that he was nursing a rib injury at the hands of Big Van Vader. Goes after Arn, slams his head down. Presses Rude on the roof of the cage. Sting throws Arn into the fence, then back body drops Austin into the fence. Arn’s face is being cheese grated by Sting, yuck. Everyone’s in one ring now. Steamboat hurls Rude into the other ring. Flying clothesline by Austin on Barry. Double team on the legs of Rude. Bobby Eaton’s in last. Shoves Steamboat into the fence. Austin is pitched into the fence. Larry Z is messing with a turnbuckle. Dragon pounds on Larry Z. Arn stomps away on Sting. Rude and Koloff lock up. Rhodes kicks Austin. Rude is messing with the turnbuckle. Scorpion Death Lock on Arn, but Eaton saves it. The top rope is unhooked! Figure four by Rhodes on Larry Z. Koloff rams Austin in the corner. Rude breaks up the figure four. Slam Rhodes on Austin, to the top, misses the drop kick. Eaton picks up the bar from the top rope, hands it to Larry Z, holds up Sting, swing, Sting moves and hits Eaton in the arm! Sting with an armbar on Eaton and gets the submission. Eaton is in agony. And there is your greatest War Games match of all time. Finally a five star match in the pile.

WINNERS: Sting’s Squadron submission -> 23:35 mins. *****

Finally a five-star match in the pile that deserves a download, but alas, most everything else is junk. War Games 1996 is worth a look, for the shocking outcome, X-Pac vs. Kidman is okay, pass on the rest. The match pile has run dry, all that’s out there for grabbing is RAR files from very slow servers downloading at a speed comparable to a 2400 baud modem while I have a DSL.

411mania.com is doing their version of American Idol called RantWars. I'd enter that myself, only problem is, 500 words ain't enough for a long-winded debater like I am, and frankly the rules would constrain me too much. Should I do one of these unofficial entries? Maybe, you might see what I have to say about the question of the week.
