I've gathered together some more videos, a bunch focusing on two particular wrestlers. Jerry "The King" Lawler, and indy wrestler Mad Mac Davis. Alas, I haven't been able to come up with any more bonanza of videos to review, as I'm pretty much down to a couple of sites that do weekly/semi-weekly net shows.

Hulk Hogan vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler - Highlights
Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Andy Kaufman

Georgia Independent Wrestling Association - Georgia

First we go to this site, http://www.kinglawler.com for our first selection of videos.

"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler w/ The Kat? -- Joined in progress from something in the year 2000, we see Dusty raking Lawler then going after The King's valet. Dusty was in the NWO at this point, wrestling in the indies and not on WCW TV itself. Jerry sneaks up and wraps a rope around his neck and chokes him out. Jerry has a board and throws it at Dusty but it misses, Dusty has a board of his own and nails him. Back in the ring, Dusty with three elbows on the head. Dusty with a double fist, Lawler hulks up removes the strap, backs Dusty in the corner and slugs away, Dusty covers and uses the ropes but gets caught, Jerry trips hiim and uses the ropes himself for the win. Well crap, wish more of this was here.

WINNER: Jerry "The King" Lawler pin -> 2:50 mins. shown DUD

Hulk Hogan w/ "Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler -- This is a highlight reel. Yes Hulk Hogan had Jimmy Hart as his manager well before the 90s when he was performing as a heel. Lockup shove in the corner King, another one, headlock Jerry, Hulk puts him on the top rope. Hulk swings but Jerry hits him and he struts. Skip ahead, Irish whip Hulk, back elbow, slam and leg drop. Not the finish? Skip ahead, another whip, clothesline Hulk. Later, whip reverse slam Lawler. Hulk begs off, Lawler slugs away at him and knocks him down. Punch away on the mat by Lawler. Jerry slugs away, Hulks on the ropes. Skip ahead, ref bump occurred, Jerry's still slugging, and Jimmy Hart jumps in and breaks the cane on Lawler's back. Hulk and Jimmy do double teaming on The King, but Jerry's back up, runs Hulk out, got the cane, nails Jimmy and beats the crap out of him. It's a DQ. Since only three minutes out of fifteen were shown I'm gonna pass on rating it.

WINNER: Jerry "The King" Lawler DQ -> 14:30 mins. (3:00 shown) No Rating

Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Andy Kaufman -- This match is at 33K video quality, and the only one at this rate I'm gonna do, cause the video was very good for such a low data rate. That weirdo from Taxi thought he could become a pro wrestler after being a stand up comic for so many years by wrestling women. Wonder how he would had fared against Chyna, or Miss Jacqueline, or Lita, or Trish Stratus. Though he cuts the promos his physical strength just ain't there. To the actual match, Andy just runs away for the first five minutes, thankfully that was cut from this video. Jerry finally says you can have a free headlock on me, and Andy reluctantly applies one. Jerry waits, then side suplexes him on the back of his head. Jerry with a piledriver to get himself DQ'ed which in Memphis is a banned move. He should had just did a bunch of wrestling moves on him just to demonstrate to him that he had no business in the ring. Lawler gives him a second piledriver for the exclamation point. On to David Letterman, Kaufman says it was all a big joke, he ought to sue but he's not that kind of guy and just wants an apology. Lawler asks just what kind of guy are you? Letterman moves away, Lawler stands up and slaps Kaufman out of the chair. Kaufman comes back out after a break and cusses up a storm at Lawler then throws coffee at him. Skip ahead, as Jimmy Hart introduces Kaufman as the new King of Memphis. Lawler comes out during a match with Hart's team and blasts him with a fireball. I never believed fireballs had any place in wrestling. Kaufman would die of lung cancer about a year later.

WINNER: Andy Kaufmann DQ -> 6:50 mins. (2:00 shown) DUD

On to the World Wrestling Federation for something more recent, this is one of the many Bischoff stunts he's pulled as corrupt RAW G.M. who's doing his best to put the WWF out of business while on the payroll. This video is of 93K video quality.

Lance Storm & Lord William Regal vs. Jerry "The King" Lawler & "Good ol' JR" Jim Ross -- That idiot Eric Bischoff and Queef Val Venis are doing commentary, and forced Jim Ross to wrestle cause they didn't like what he's been saying about them. Bischoff is such a total wuss and should be stripped of his black belt, cause he can't fight. Regal knocks Jim's hat off. Jerry and Regal start. Lockup, arm wringer Regal, reversed, headlock Regal but Lawler chucks him over. Tag Storm. Lockup, headlock Storm, shove off, back body drop Lawler. Lockup, Lance shoulders him in the ropes, slam, misses a running elbow, drop kick Lawler, Ross yanks him on the top rope, rollup for two. Shove to the corner, boot, tag Regal, he nails Lawler cover gets two. Knees to the head get two. Regal rips on the face, to the corner, tag Storm, knees to the gut, knockdown gets ONE. Rear headlock, Regal in and kicks, holds him up for Storm to charges and Jerry gets away, slam King on Storm, punch from the middle rope gets two. Storm back in, charges the King, misses a spin kick but hits Charles Robinson with it. Regal with the brass knuckles, Lawler punches him down, takes him down and pounds on his head. Lawler goes for the piledriver but Regal with a LOW BLOW. Jim Ross tags in, sees the knucks and gets them. Storm hits from behind and the heels stomp on Ross. Dudley Boyz run in, 3D on Storm! Ross up, POW! He hides the knucks and pins Regal for three! Bischoff and Morley are LIVID! The Dudleys hoist Ross on their shoulders to celebrate as the OU fight song plays by a live band.

WINNERS: Jerry "The King" Lawler & Jim Ross pin -> 5:30 mins. *½

There are a lot of other clips available on the site, a bunch that's of the modem quality variety, but it does include the new weekly Memphis TV program in streaming video at 100K quality. Since someone else is posting recaps of the show every week, I won't be writing a review of this program unless of course I need to fill a Rap Sheet up when I am short. Now onto the second half and this collection of videos comes from Galaxie Pro Wrestling and the Georgia Independent Wrestling Association. All of these center on an indy wrestler Mad Mac Davis at http://www.madmacdavis.com. Davis has been in a nasty feud with a group of wrestlers calling themselves Killer Instinct. So to lead off, we pick up a match from 5/10/2003 from the GIWA at 256K quality.

Mad Mac Davis vs. Bobby Joiner -- Davis comes out to the ring first, and explains what's going on. He pulls out a new championship belt made of platinum. He's not happy that KI has been interfering in his matches week after week and that the GIWA admins are giving Davis his pick of any member of the group with major punishments if they try interfering in the match itself. Joiner climbs in the ring while the rest are outside, and Davis fires insults at all of them. He picks who he wants and points to the manager Joiner. Davis orders KI to leave, Joiner tells them not to worry about it, Joiner tells Davis he wants an Atlanta Street Fight (hardcore match). Joiner wants a test of strength, lockup and Joiner kicks him. Davis is up and shoves Joiner off. Lockup, shove Davis. Irish whip, clothesline Davis, Joiner is rammed into each turnbuckle, ten punches in the corner, LOW BLOW Joiner! Bobby goes outside to fetch a weapon, has a kendo stick! Couple shots, but Davis grabs him and whacks him with the stick and sends him down. Pickup Davis, whip, and a MAIN EVENT SPINEBUSTER. Another low kick by Joiner, whip, clothesline knocks him down but he hurt his arm. Forearm blows to the back have no effect, Davis to the corner and slugs away at him. Davis with a charge and a splash. Davis tries another one and misses, Joiner with a neckbreaker! He goes out and fetches a chair and whacks him on the back. He goes out again and fetches a box, block, Davis steals it and whacks Joiner. Davis waits in the corner, charge and spear on Joiner but catches the referee, who stupidly was waiting in the corner with Joiner. Oops. Paradise is out here and has the belt, mocking Davis. Joiner with a chair, one shot has no effect, Davis kicks him. Paradise comes in and nails Davis with the belt, pulls Joiner on top of Davis, ref rolls over and counts two. Joiner with the chair again and whacks him on the back, Davis hulks up, slams the chair into Joiner's face. Davis goes out and gets a table. Davis with a firearm's carry slam through the table, he calls it the "Thundershock", and gets three. Not a great hardcore match, but you can expect that when you get a manager as one of the participants who doesn't usually wrestle.

WINNER: Mad Mac Davis pin -> 7:35 mins. ¾*

"Big Bank Inc." - Big Bank Barfield & "Platium Playboy" Preston Paradise vs. "The Outlaws" - Mad Mad Davis & The Firewalker -- Barfield has a big dollar sign on his tights, making it easier for me to tell it's him, Paradise is wearing silver. Firewalker is the taller dude with no hair. Davis wears an A-shirt. Sheesh, sloppy camera work by the cameraman. Barfield and Davis starts. We have this wide shot, ugh. Davis gets a headlock and shoves him down. Forearms to the back, Barfield fires back. Man, get a tripod or something! Powerslam Barfield gets two. Barfield to the middle rope and a knee drop gets two. Barfield with a forearm shots, fisherman's suplex. Barfield nails Firewalker in the corner, pickup, nails Davis. Paradise goes for a choke. The Bank continues to kick away. Suplex Barfield. Tag Preston who just dances around then shoves Davis into his corner, but he doesn't tag! Preston tags out immediately, Irish whip reverse, MAIN EVENT SPINEBUSTER gets two for Davis. Irish whip Davis, side slam on Barfield gets two. Suplex Davis. Tag Firewalker. Double elbow by the Outlaws. Slam Firewalker, suplex, leg drop gets two. Man I don't see many people in the stands! Barfield clubs him quick, tosses him to his corner. Tag Preston, walks into a back kick from Firewalker. Bulldog Firewalker, Boston Crab! Barfield jumps in and breaks it up. The ref rushes right to Davis as the BBI leaves the ring. Preston back in and clubs Firewalker down. Tag Barfield. Backbreaker, leg drop double team and double elbows. Choke Preston with the knee. Suplex Paradise gets two as the camera work gets more annoying by the second. Suplex Paradise gets two as Davis goes after Barfield but the ref breaks it up. Paradise takes Firewalker to the corner, tag Barfield, knee to the gut cover gets two. Elbow to the back, tag Preston. Preston drops a knee to an exposed region, then drops knees on the shoulder. Tag Barfield, he goes to the top and drops an elbow. Barfield mocks Davis, he's in, illegal switch as Paradise kicks Firewalker and stands on him. Double team move as Paradise holds Firewalker to be splashed, that gets a two count. Running elbow misses. Firewalker gives Barfield a spinning neckbreaker and tags Davis. Clothesline on Paradise, spinebuster on Paradise, spear on Barfield. Elbow Davis, goes after Paradise but he nails him in the head with something and Barfield pins him. Arrgh. Bobby Joiner is in the ring now has they stomp away on the Outlaws. It's an extended beatdown as Joiner runs his mouth. Paradise blabs and Davis takes a swipe before being beaten down again. Poor lighting and sloppy work by a handheld camera, coupled with a match that was a bit boring, not a good combination.

WINNERS: Big Bank Inc. pin -> 12:10 mins. *

A few weeks later they'd have a wild after match brawl in another video labeled confrontation. Paradise and Joiner are kicking Firewalker when Mac Davis attacks them both. The men are separated, but Davis charges them in the aisle. Now it's more physical. Paradise throws Davis into a line of chairs so conveniently set up. Repeated chairshots, one blocked, Davis with a DDT on the floor that he didn't get much of cause Paradise is back up and throws Davis into the stage. Firewalker DDT's someone into a chair. Paradise suplexes Davis on the stage. Is that a teepee? Davis rolls over, off the stage to and they go thru the tinsel. Well that was more interesting than the tag match. There's a second brawl on the site, Davis vs. Paradise again that's not a match. Onward to the main event that's further back in time on 12/14/2K2. This is now Galaxie Pro Wrestling before the feuding factions jumped ship. A separate preview video showing the buildup between the participants is there on the site as well with Davis giving a voiceover. PPPP apparently has been harassing his family at home AWAY from the ring before the cage match. I would have had the police arrest him. PPPP had injured Davis's knee too. Can't help but notice the low attendance throughout the video.

GPW Multimedia Championship Cage Match
(c)"Platium Playboy" Preston Paradise vs. Mad Mac Davis - Paradise had two belts at this point, the heavyweight title and the multimedia title. It was supposed to be BOTH titles being defended, but Paradise modified the contract to no one's knowledge or consent so only the multimedia title is on the line. The cage has the door in the middle instead of the corner. Davis attacks, Paradise shoves him off. Spear Davis, punch away, Davis is shoved into the fence. Suplex Paradise, Davis fouls up a move and they both go down. Paradise rams him in the fence, drops an elbow, rams him into the fence again. Stomp away Paradise, grinds in his boot, knockdown, elbow. Davis up and rams Preston into the fence. Davis tries a move but blows it. Irish whip clothesline Davis. Paradise knees him, chops, clothesline, works on the leg, into a half crab. Elbow by Preston, works on the leg some more. Paradise rams Davis into the fence again, then works on the arm, wrapping the legs around it. Boy I'm more interested in what's going on in front of the cage, I can't see all that's going on but people are being chased off. Back up, Preston punches away on Davis. Irish whip reverse back elbow Davis. Davis goes up, someone is trying to interfere, Preston stops him. Oh it's Killer Instinct members! Davis is in the tree of woe as Preston puts the boots to him with choking action. Playboy pushes him up and Davis drops down between the fence and ropes. Paradise continues to kick away. To the corner, more punching! Yawn. Irish whip reverse and Preston crashes into the corner, Davis punches away himself and has some sort of headlock. Davis meets the fence again and Paradise clips the knees. A KI member inserts a chair through the cage door and Paradise nails Davis with it. Officials are trying to run KI off. Oh Firewalker is out there too, Paradise swings at him. Kick Paradise, to the corner, chairshot is blocked and the Playboy gets nailed. Davis tries climbing out again, 4P isn't moving much, Davis can't get any higher than the top rope at all. 4P is up again and chairshots him down. 4P with a slug, throws him around and PUNCHES some more. Playboy sucks chant. PPPP just collapses on the mat as Davis crawls over and they slug it out while kneeled down. Mad Mac chant. MORE SLUGGING. Now 4P gets up and chairshots Davis. Now he inserts the leg in the chair. Stomp. Pulls the chair out and bangs it on the knee. Well these guys are barely moving. Pickup, Irish whip MAIN EVENT SPINEBUSTER PPPP. Davis rolls over and starts PUNCHING PPPP in what looks like a skip. Davis makes a big to climb again, still can't get off the top rope. PPPP meets him and rams his head on the top of the cage. Fisherman's superplex off the top rope, finally something different. PPPP hurts himself. Davis goes to climb again, on the top rope, does a flying shoulder tackle on PPPP this time. Davis wants the door open but a KI member blocks it. Davis is now on top of the cage, PPPP grabs his leg, Davis punches him to leg go. Davis is over the top, the door is open and Davis kicks the door at his head to knock him down and he drops for the win and the title to end this pretty awful cage match. Fans are cheering loudly for the result though. Davis is bleeding from the head. Long celebration in the cage. Someone wants the music cut, oh it's PPPP and he has a contract. PPPP runs his mouth about the contract, Davis grabs it, PPPP shoves the ring announcer. Davis lays the belt down and says come get it. Paradise gets it without resistance. Show over.

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: "Mad" Mac Davis KO -> 18:10 mins. ½*

Boy I didn't come up with anything good. The GIWA guys are gonna need to make major improvements in the camera work cause that was really bad, but then again the matches just were not that good. Next time, it will be all Assault Championship Wrestling out of Connecticut as we got new videos for two successive weeks. Until next time, this is the Crimefighter saying bustin' ain't easy but exposing the dirty little secrets of the nutjobs is VERY EASY!
