The Rap Sheet - by the Crimefighter
Special Streaming Video Edition #4
5/4/2K3

This rap sheet is posted in rec.sport.pro-wrestling.info and the archive of all previous rap sheets written are stored on http://abermud.tripod.com/rapsheet.

It's another collection of matches for review; all of these are downloaded from various places across the Internet, some of these for a limited time. You must have Real Player and Windows Media Player installed to view most of these, preferably the most current versions are recommended. The matches from Pro Championship Wrestling require Quicktime Player 6, which are in the form of MP4 video files that WM9 and Real Player do not yet support. High speed internet connections for downloading of these files is highly recommended as you'll be pulling your hair out waiting for these to download over a 56k modem.

Pro Championship Wrestling has a lot more match files on its site that I'll be going through later, but 'tis better to break it up than to take it all down in one gulp, and there's a reason for that, which I get into later.

There's a huge pile of highlight clips from several West Virginia promotions here: http://www.wvwrestling.com/multimedia.html. There's no full matches though to review so I'm gonna pass on these.

Leading off, a match from NWA TNA at URL http://www.midwestwrestling.com/midwest/multimedia.html which is said to be a tryout match for these two guys at 512K video quality.

Danny Dominion height/weight unknown Chicago, IL w/ Adara James vs. "The Underwear Model" Eric Priest 6'3" 237lbs. Chicago, IL - Dominion is the current NWA Midwest Heavyweight Champion and this is non-title. Mikey Tenay and Don West are commentating. Priest is after Danny, Irish whip reverse, flying forearm Dominion, another Irish whip and Priest bails out. Dominion charges and suicide dives at Priest. Punch away on the floor and toss in. Dominion up, flying cross body gets two. Irish whip to the corner, forearm smash, Irish whip reverse, monkey flip attempt blocked, hurraconronna off the top gets two. Kicking in the corner, Irish whip reverse, Dominion gets speared in mid air. Priest kicks away, choke on the bottom rope, slingshot into the 2nd rope. Pick up, side slam, showing off but gets rolled up for two. Full nelson slam Priest. Punch away to the corner, Irish whip charge misses. Dominion punches away, Irish whip kick, flips him over his head for two. Irish whip, Priest hits a reverse DDT. Top rope Priest, but James is wigging the ropes, Dominion up with Priest, gets powerbombed off the top in a failed super Frankensteiner attempt. Priest goes after Adara James chasing her into the ring, Tornado DDT by James! Dominion grabs Priest, holds him like he's gonna do the Razor's Edge, but drops him straight down in a powerbomb, Dominion's Deliverance for the win. Too short.

WINNER: Danny Dominion pin -> 5:05 mins. **

Moving on to Assault Championship Wrestling at http://www.assaultwrestling.com/tv04262003.asf is a set of bouts in one 30 minute video at 95K quality that's available only for a limited time.

Promo for an upcoming show to start the video. Mike Milano is commentating the show, and is much less annoying than last time. Closing moments of the "Delicious" Dave Vicious Memorial Cup tournament is shown.

Mo Sexy vs. "Diehard" Eddie Edwards -- Joined in progress, slam Edwards, running shooting star press by Edwards gets two. Referee is Judas Young. Mo Sexy in the corner, Irish whip reversal, monkey flip, lands on his feet, side flip suplex gets two for Mo. Slam Mo, goes to the top rope, Edwards up and knocks him down, hits a running piggyback stunner where he carries his victim piggyback with one arm around the neck and the other arm to carry him...DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE! Pins him there for an elimination. Well that was different.

WINNER: "Diehard" Eddie Edwards pin -> 1:55 mins. shown *½

"Hot Commodity" Julio Dinero/Fantasico/Sanchez vs. "Diehard" Eddie Edwards - A handshake. Lockup, armbar Dinero, reversed, wrenching the arm, reversed. Dinero gives the referee Judas Young control of the armbar while Dinero mocks him. Great, we got another biased ref who apparently misses wearing the tights and boots. Dinero takes control of the armbar again, but Edwards flips out of it. Trades of side headlock, shoulderblock, misses elbow, trading of arm drags, Dinero with a belly to back suplex, gets two. Uppercuts by Dinero, Irish whip reversed, elbow Dinero, Dinero on top, attack, another diehard with a vengeance but Dinero kicks out at two! Skip ahead, Edwards runs to the top rope with an armbar and does a flying arm drag. Another skip ahead, Dinero pumphandle, and a big slam that only gets one. Dinero up, modified fishermans buster gets two. Jump ahead. Dinero on the second rope and misses an elbow. Edwards, holds him for a 3/4 facelock, bounces off the second rope flipping Dinero on the back of his head in a variation of the Sliced Bread #2 neckbreaker, that gets only two. Uppercut Edwards, Irish whip reversed, full nelson swing and slam gets three for Dinero! Too bad it was clipped.

TOURNEY WINNER: "Hot Commodity" Julio Dinero pin -> 4:30 mins. shown. **½

Hug between the participants afterward. Presentation of the trophy by Judas Young and recognizing Dave Vicious passing. Thanks all who took part in the tourney. Another promo airs for an upcoming show. Going to a show, Chains Unbound at some rock expo.

"Diehard" Eddie Edwards vs. Spider - Another match with Edwards. Lockup, Edwards Irish whip, hip toss Spider, arm drag, drop kick gets two. Jason Knight out, sit down piledriver on Kage. Milano is now throwing an tantrum now! Thunder up, another superkick hits Kage gets three!

Now going down to Pro Championship Wrestling in California at http://www.pcw-wrestling.com/multi.html and for the first time I encounter MP4 format requiring the download of Quicktime 6. Big selection here that will take more than one Rap Sheet, but starting off we have...

Hardcore Match
Skitzo Mafioso 6'0" 228lbs. Del Paso Heights, CA vs. Pogo the Crown stats unknown - It's a PCW vs. XPW match! TOL at ringside scolds Skitzo for the stuff he did to him, and he brought the worst version of Pogo that's not toned down for TV to give him the worst hardcore arse kicking he's ever seen. Video's a bit dark. The manager for Pogo is in the ring, giving a speech, most of it I can't discern. Now Skitzo attacks with the cane, Russian leg sweep on Pogo with the cane. Skitzo with a missile dropkick, gets one. Cane to the head, whack whack on the back. Choke with the cane, turn the lights up! Pogo goes out, Skitzo to the top, suicide dive on the clown. Skitzo tosses him back in, someone's commentating on the house mike. To the corner, Skitzo pounds on him, Irish whip reverse clothesline Pogo. Pogo with a doubleaxe, choke, Irish whip clothesline. Pogo takes his time, then tosses Skitzo out. Pogo now comes out, flying clothesline from the apron. Skitzo with a pipe, but Skitzo gets thrown into the rail. Pogo bashes him with the rail. NOW the lights come up. They're taking their time here, Skitzo hits with a chair. Man, what's with giving them so much time to recover? Go for a pin or something. Kicks on the floor by Skitzo. Skitzo seems to have something, but the camera doesn't focus on him at all. It's lighter fluid. Oh no a flaming table! Pogo charges him with a chair to knock down Skitzo, then powerbombs him through a table, that's no longer lit. Pogo on the second rope, I hear the ref is apparently counting, it's a count out! IN A HARDCORE MATCH??? And they were BOTH OUTSIDE the ring for half the bout, didn't the ref think of counting during THAT TIME? Total crap, poor camera work, bad lighting, poor sound, mike work drowned out by the crowd. Pogo's giving a speech, shouting that he's the most extreme man in wrestling or something. That match proved he's not even close to being.

WINNER: Pogo the Clown countout -> 7:05 mins. DUD

And it's my first match download that I've rated a DUD. Unfortunately, I have to note that one of the participants in this match, Skitzo Mafioso real name Anthony Antonucci was killed in a car accident on March 9th, 2003 while returning home from a trip which was about two weeks after he supposedly had his final match in PCW.

"International Black Man" Cameron Clyburn 5'9" 200lbs. Weisbon, Germany vs. T.O.L. 5'11" 245lbs. Sacramento, CA - Don't ask what TOL stands for. More bad lighting, as TOL is giving a speech at Clyburn, something about a strip club, and IBM didn't get lucky or something. TOL says he's good but not that good, Clyburn asks TOL to define what "good" is, TOL says he's a former two time PCW heavyweight champion and held two belts at once. Some sort of smart remark is made then TOL tries to leave, but IBM attacks him from behind. Apparently this was just an interview segment cause TOL is in street clothes and not dressed to wrestle, so we got an impromptu match here. IBM kicks away at TOL, chop and kick away in the corner. Irish whip, elbow gets a two count. The commentator on the house mike says TOL is recovering from a broken ankle injury and shouldn't even be fighting. Snap mare, kick Clyburn. Head vice, more clubbing forearms, Clyburn poses. Clyburn suplexes TOL for a two count. Irish whip, reverse, Clyburn with a belly to back suplex for two. To the corner, Clyburn chops away, reversed TOL chops away, Irish whip splash TOL. Spinebuster TOL. TOL puts him up for the Razor's Edge, no he flips him down on his face. TOL goes to the second rope and does a leg drop. Now TOL has messed up his foot and the match is stopped apparently. IBM goes after TOL and does an Angle Slam on a ref, then puts TOL in an STF as the video ends. Good lord, what was that?

NO CONTEST -> 3:35 mins. ¼*

TLC PCW Tag Title Match
(c)The Sextons vs. Gunn & Ghetto Star vs. SBS & TST - This one's joined in progress and I have no clue WHICH team is which. Guys in yellow are on top of a big ladder and Skitzo who's not in the match shoves the thing down, through two tables outside. A woman gets in the ring and is speared by Skitzo through a table in the corner, great. Two ladders and a table are set up. The woman is out of the ring on the floor. A guy in a red shirt, a Sexton, full nelson, Bubba Bombs someone into a table below as the double-ladder table set up collapses. The Sexton's are getting the belts apparently. It's OVER??? The video cuts out and we find ourselves at something completely unrelated, as the Sextons, Skitzo, and a bunch of other guys charge the ring to attack one man. What the heck kind of video were they making here? Three craptacular matches so far from these guys.

WINNERS and STILL CHAMPS: The Sextons -> 2:50 mins. shown. ¼*

Helfyre 6'0" 235lbs. Pleasant Hell, CA vs. Jason Vega 5'10" 200lbs. Concord, CA - Looking for a match to end this Rap Sheet on, but I keep running into crap and have to add another one to the thing. Finally a match with good lighting, though it looks to be a very small venue. Looks like a warehouse, there's only ONE row of people around the ring, as the ref checks Vega, Helfyre charges and misses, trip, Vega on the middle rope but hops off when Helfyre moves away. Lockup, headlock Helfrye, reversals, Irish whip, hip toss blocked, Vega with a flip off an amrbar, Vega flips off a monkey flip attempt, Helfyre with a hip toss, drop kick, another hip toss and Vega's on the mat. Vega tosses Helfyre over, twists the arm, takedown, again, drops the leg. Another arm twist, belly to back suplex Vega. Vega with the Code Red armbar submission. Drops knees on the arm, standing up, Vega to the ropes, chops, Irish whip reversed, flying headscissors Vega, clotheslines. Irish whip reverse, spinning tombstone piledriver Helfyre gets a two count. Abdominal stretch into a slam by Helfyre, Vega has a foot on the ropes to stop the count at two. Another clothesline Helfyre, to the second rope another clothesline gets two. Pickup, forearm, Irish whip, misses clothesline, Vega with an Edge'cution gets two. Helfyre tries a pickup, but gets bulldogged to the mat. Vega picks him up, Irish whip reverse to the corner, Vega dropkicks him in the back, chop, puts him on the second rope, but Helfyre does a blockbuster that gets two. Irish whip to the corner, Vega does a flying elbow from the second rope. Another whip across and Helfyre hits an forearm shot, whip across Vega on the second rope, Helfyre hops up there with him, 3/4 nelson slam with a twist gets three. Finally something decent out of there so I can wrap things up.

WINNER: Helfyre pin -> 7:45 mins. **½

Dear me, how did I run into so much crap from one wrestling promotion? Yeah I didn't know what I was getting when I downloaded this stuff, but hey, at least I didn't waste an hour downloading this crap on a modem. Anyway, the ACW stuff and the one NWA match are the decent stuff to see, the PCW stuff was awful except for that last one. Someone sent me a link to some more streaming videos from a promotion in Montreal, so next time in addition to some more PCW stuff I will be reviewing bouts from Internet Wrestling Syndicate, though there's not a single full match out of all the highlight reels from it.
