The Rap Sheet - from the Crimefighter
Next Generation Wrestling's Ace of Spades
7/10/2K4, Peoria, IL
Ummm...why isn't there any ring introductions? Who are these guys?
This rap sheet is posted in news:rec.sport.pro-wrestling.info,
a newsgroup many wrestling companies could use to post results of their
shows or advertise upcoming shows but don't. And the archive of
rap sheets is located at http://rap-sheet.tripod.com.
I'm way late in putting this one out, cause I've had no motiviation to
finish it up due to being stressed over our own fed in Springfield
being ensnared by the Sagnamon County Board taking away NMW's home by
defacto because they denied variances to a teen club in the same
building effectively barring all public assemblies. It's been
writing notes and calling people about it and I'm just been confused
over it all. And in my own typical fashion I jump the gun and
make intrepretations prematurely before the final word comes in.
I will write up an actual story on this in the next NMW rap sheet.
I've known of this promotion's existance for a long time, I just
haven't mustered up the will to travel 70 miles north. This time
since this is supposedly one of their major shows apart from the weekly
ones and three current and one ex-member of the NGW roster has been
coming to Springfield to compete, I finally decided to make the drive
and watch a show. Oh, why is that one person an ex-member of the
roster? Some stupid political reasons that the promoter pulled
where if he showed up at NGW's home building that he'll have him
arrested. So the Crimefighter has a special message for THAT
person who got rid of "Soon To Be"...YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!! GROW UP,
GET OVER YOURSELF AND LET HIM BUY A FREAKIN' TICKET TO WATCH THE
SHOWS!!! Ahem, now moving on.
Total attendance for this show was a disappointing 60-70 people.
Driving to this venue was a huge mess, cause the roads along I-74 and
the interstate itself are in the process of being tore up and
reconstructed. Half the turnoffs were closed down cause the ramps
are being rebuilt. The interstate in some places is being widened
for more lanes. The city streets are confusing as well, I ended
up having to circle around a bit until I could get to where I wanted to
go. Once I got there, the parking lots were full and I had to
find a legal place to park on the street. Imagine my surprise as
once I got inside, the number of people did not reflect the number of
cars. A wedding across the street at a church was taking up all
the parking. Okay, doesn't the church have a big enough parking
lot for themselves? I did a head count just before the show
started and got 50, some latecomers bumped it up a little bit but it
was not good attendance. Did they do any sort of advertising
before this show?
Live from the American Legion Hall Post #2. Your hosts are
Scooter and Kyle Rich who are doing live commentary. Your ring
announcer is....NO ONE. That's right, there's no ring announcer,
there's no ring introductions whatsoever. WHY? You've got
to be kidding me, how the heck am I supposed to know who ANYONE is if
they aren't introducing anybody? I suppose you could get it off
the live commentary but they're slow to mention their individual names
during the tag bouts, they just refer to them by the team names.
That's not a good move if there's first time spectators in the crowd,
or infrequent ones. And of course we have in the opening four
guys from a Chicago area fed that I've never heard of even on CW.com's
board. The show starts 15 minutes late, and the national anthem
is not played cause these guys come up to their own music.
The Great Malenko & Chris Michaels vs. Slappy the Clown &
Gilbert Lewis - No ring intros here, and these guys are all from World
Wrestling Zone, a wrestling company that used to allow 12 year old kids
to wrestle in matches during their shows. Yeah, I'm NOT kidding
you on this one. I asked about that after their match and they've
stopped doing it, thankfully. One member of each team had their
names on their ring attire so I could at least identify who was
who. Malenko and Michaels waste a LOT OF TIME running around from
the ring to the bar window. The opposition, oh geez, not another
clown and Gilbert is playing the character from Revenge of the
Nerds. The bell finally rings, and the heels continue to stall
like mad even grabbing chips and cheese curls from the concession
stand, and NMW board regular MOAV5706 stands up and turns his back to
the ring until they lock up, which takes a LONG time. Slappy and
Michaels start. Trading of slaps on the butt, lockup shove
Slappy. Michaels bails, and I start chanting "BORING!", which
gets the attention of Gilbert. Back in lockup shove Slappy.
Chris gets an armbar, Slappy reverses, headlock, armwringer, Chris
flips over, headlock, hammerlock. Slappy snap mare, neckbreaker,
whip kick, slam. Slappy pulls out a whoopie cushion, puts it on
Michaels and sits on him. The heels take off for the back, but
alas they come back through the curtain to continue at the six minute
mark. Tag Malenko, tag Lewis. Force down Malenko gets two,
Lewis pounds away. Drop toe hold Gilbert, chop, whip splash, DDT
gets two. Malenko, snap mare, chop, whip reverse tag Michaels,
hip toss Lewis but gets axed. Michaels with a poke gets
two. Choke with the leg, whip hip toss, whip armdrag.
Illegal switch, armbar Malenko. Powerslam Malenko, legdrop gets
two. Tag Michaels, sideslam elbow combo gets two. Superkick
Michaels, fisherman's suplex gets two. Tag Malenko, snap mare,
double team wheelbarrow legdrop gets two. Whip sunset flip, chop
gets Michaels two. Tag Malenko, Michaels with a slam, flying
elbow gets two. Michaels with a messed-up looking DDT gets
two. Michaels whip reverse hip toss Gilbert. Clothesline
Gilbert, legdrop, Malenko gets hit. Double tag, Slappy
clotheslines, back body drops, everyone's in, ten punch counts.
Double whip Michaels gets the clothesline on Slappy. Malenko
chokes Gilbert, Michaels and Slappy go outside and brawl on the floor
leading up to Slappy being knocked out cold against the post I
think. Chris Michaels grabs a chain and wraps it around the wrist
of Slappy, tells the ref to check on him, a chair gets inserted in the
ring, the heels powerbomb neckbreaker combo Gilbert on the chair, put
the chair on top of him, then play dead. The ref, completely
oblivious to the commentators and too incompetent to realize the fact
that Slappy and Gilbert are unconscious gets the idea that they used
the chain and the chair calls for the DQ. WHAT???
WINNERS: The Great Malenko & Chris Michaels DQ -> 16:30 mins. ½*
The finish was so incredibily stupid for words and the REFEREE IS A
FREAKING MORON. If this guy had ANY BRAINS he'd figure out two
men knocked out can't possibily had used those weapons, but
intelligence is too much to ask for when it comes to referees and my
own has been greatly insulted. I mean if you're going through all
the effort to knock someone out with a chair why wouldn't you just pin
the guy instead of try to draw the DQ? Way too freaking long to
get the match going and the complete BS finish just was not a good way
to get this show going. And I think it also ate into the time
allotted for the matches the rest of the night. I couldn't take
the clown and nerd gimmicks seriously either.
Tank Thurman, regional director comes out with bodyguard for an
interview segment. He rambles something about the upper class,
then starts trashing Mike Chasteen and Russ Stevens. He then says
something about Apocalypse losing tonight, which brings him out.
He gets in his face then beats the tar out of him and the
bodyguard! Chokeslam for the bodyguard. Apoc takes the mike
and says he doesn't care about anyone in the crowd. He says he'll
overcome the odds and beat Russ Stevens errr....Staley, who comes
out. Apoc says he has no chance in heck of beating him.
Apoc says Chris Hazard lost to a girl so he can't beat him either,
which brings him out. Apoc then says the fans chose a dolt to
fight him, that being Jester. Well Jester comes out, then Stevens
& Hazard jump in the ring and proceed to beat the crap out of
Apocalypse. Apoc goes after Jester but to no avail. Scooter
warns everyone if they don't stop fighting they'll be kicked out of the
main event. Apoc wants some more so he tries taking shots at
people now. Soon Stevens and Hazard leave, but Jester is still
out here and Apoc attacks Jester some more. The mess is cleared
out finally and we proceed onward.
"The Monster" Chris Brown 5'9" 250lbs. Pekin, IL vs. Klepto Magnifico
?'?" ???lbs. Parts Unknown - Man I almost took Klepto for El Pollo
Loco, since there's no ring intros that's an easy mistake to make.
Klepto means THIEF by the way. Sheesh, we're an hour into this
show and there's only been one match. Takedown Brown, poke
Klepto, whip boot, spear, superkick splash from the second rope gets
two. Shoulderblock Brown, whip crash, shoulderblocks to the
back. Brown with the torture rack, then drops him. Gorilla
press Brown, but Klepto slips out, rake, shoulderblocks. Klepto
whip reverse crash corner. Klepto with eye pokes, Brown goes for
what looks like a spinning rock bottom but Klepto somehow gets the
DDT. Klepto steals one of Brown's gloves, chase outside, back in
Klepto gets a spinebuster. Chris Hazard comes out with a weapon
and jumps in the ring, Brown holds Klepto up but Hazard misses the mark
and nails Brown by mistake. Klepto pins him. Chris Brown
throws the ref out on the hard floor, yeah there's NO PADDING.
Too short to mean much.
WINNER: Klepto Magnifico pin -> 4:10 mins. *¾
NGW Hardcore Championship
(c)Sinnister 6'1" 300lbs. Sinn City w/ Dr. Jacob Walker & CJ
Esparza vs. Big Pappa 6'3" 450lbs. Pappadelphia - Sinnister has the
mike and says since Kyle Rich pulled out due to injury so who's he
gonna wrestle tonight? Kyle says he'll be fighting his partner
Big Pappa. Sinnister is one of the few I've seen wrestle. I
was told that belt is actually a WWE Europeon replica that's
spraypainted blue, which I have to ask, why do wrestling companies buy
WWE or WCW belts then modify them for their own when we all can
recognize what they used to be? They since back out here the
referee that was injured. LOW BLOW by Sinnister, choke,
chops. Sinnister's men make wishes with Big Pappa's legs around
the ring post. Here come the lids and a crutch! Lidshot,
crutch shot Sinnister. Here come the cookie sheets!

floor, apron slam, Sinnister BLASTS Pappa with the BELL! Uh
oh, Pappa is bleeding badly. Pappa is put back in the ring, and
he flops facefirst into the pans. Crap this match needs to be
stopped, that is a Muta Scale cut there. Pappa gets a whip,
clothesline and pinfall.
WINNER and NEW CHAMP: Big Pappa pin -> 8:40 mins. *½
They went to the quick improvised finish, was probably supposed to go

MC struggles to tag, double tag. Clotheslines by Ryan, whip Ray
jumps over the top, Ryan tries to suplex him in but gets tripped and
pinned!
WINNERS and NEW CHAMPS: Ray the Wrestler & Kody Kash pin -> 15:00 mins.
But wait! Another ref runs out and wants the match restarted
cause they cheated. Uh, why was this done during the FIRST
match? Ray takes a boot off to protest. Double hip tosses,
double drop kicks, Ryan completely blows a double team move where MC
just drops him, MC STYLES CLASH gets the pin but the other guy's feet
were in the ropes! Shrug.
WINNERS: Fire & Iced pin -> 16:10 mins. ***½

(c)Scott Keyes 5'6" 175lbs. Quad Cities vs. Ric Brutal 5'10"
150lbs. Tokyo, Japan vs. "Asian Sensation" Brett Gakiya ?'?" ???lbs.

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: "Asian Sensation" Brett Gakiya pin -> 4:50 mins. ***
Brutal is pissed and kicks Asian, Keyes runs him off. This match
was most definately not long enough, and this is the highest rating a
match under five minutes can ever achieve.
Johnny Justice 5'8" 180lbs. Justiceville, WV vs. Mike Chasteen ?'?"
???lbs. Parts Unknown w/ Jack Daniels - Jack Daniels ISN'T a person by
the way, and Chasteen came to the ring having a bit too much of him
already. MOAV says something about him being a bull
fighter. Johnny kicks away and gets two. Someone's
screaming "drunken power", isn't there a WWI law, wrestling while
intoxicated? Justice with a shove to the corner, armbar,
hammerlock, takedown, headlock takedown, another takedown, this to cut
off the alcohol flow to the brain. If he's too drunk to wrestle
throw him out! Chasteen pulls off a hammerlock rock bottom for
two. Chasteen whip reverse clotheslines miss, Justice steps back
and watches him run the ropes until he flops down. Justice
charges with shoulderblocks in the corner. Chasteen acts like
he's gonna throw up, Justice with a small package for one.
Justice with a jawbreaker gets two. Chasteen fetches the Jack
Daniels bottle and takes a drink, the "Popeye The Sailor Man" starts
playing! Okay, this is so retarded. Chasteen starts
slugging away on Justice, uppercut to the shoulder gets two.
Justice whip Chasteen flops to the mat. Johnny gets the handcuffs
and cuffs Chasteen, rolls him over and pins him to end this horrible
match. Such incredible mind numbing retardedness, Chasteen should
REALLY take a hard look at what alcohol did for Scott Hall and Jake
"The Snake" Roberts and decide if he REALLY wants to emulate those
two. This sucky match was seven minutes too long and yes I've
broken out the negative stars.
WINNER: Johnny Justice pin -> 7 mins. -*½

The locker room empties out to celebrate the title change.
The Verdict: I had no idea what to expect for this show since I
hardly knew anyone in the ring. The lack of ring intros made
things real difficult for the first time attendee and the live
play-by-play is just something that shouldn't be done. This was a
real mixed bag overall. Some parts were really good, some not
long enough, some too long, and some really bad. For this to be
one of their "major" shows of the year, I just expected more.
They're gonna have to do something about the low attendance though.
Thumbs in the middle.
