The Rap Sheet - from the Crimefighter
New Midwest Wrestling's Final Reckoning
2/22/2K3, Springfield, IL

This rap sheet is posted in http://www.newmidwest.com/forum, news:rec.sport.pro-wrestling.info a newsgroup that many wrestling organizations could utilize to spread info about their shows but don't, and the archive of all the ones I've written are stored in http://abermud.tripod.com/rapsheet.

A month has passed since the last show, and somehow someway I managed to post more messages on one message board than anyone else, and the person in second isn’t even close. So, it was time to take a ten-day sabbatical from the place, after getting roughed up and roughing up way too many people, including the wrestlers with my excessive hell raising and flame throwing. Sadly, the trolls are piling up in here and getting more and more ridiculous by the hour. Among the serious stuff that I came up with over the month that wasn’t flame throwing, was the predictions of what the lineup would be for this show. Somehow I called the entire card match by match; maybe it was just a lucky guess.

NMW wrestlers involved in MPW events for 2/1/2K3, Tom Arson teamed with Jason Wells in a failed attempt to win the MPW tag titles from Fenix Rising. Strange pairing if you ask me, being that Arson has turned heel, and Wells has turned face and started teaming with Sage Ramsey. I think originally it was supposed to be Michael Shard, who was injured in a car wreck and had teamed with Arson in the tag tournament. Anyway, Arson victories are very few and far between of late. Guy Smith teams with MPW talent Damian Blade and loses to The Searcher and Christian Haze. Guy Smith has also hooked up with the pseudo criminal organization known as Bigg Boyz International. One wonders if they are gonna make an appearance tonight.

The show ended up being delayed a half-hour due to basketball games in the gym running late. Before the doors were opened up to let us all in, Bing Westlake was there in front of the line waiting to get in with his ticket. The fans behind him decided to get into an argument, thus entertaining us while we waited. Once the doors opened, Bing positioned himself at ringside. To open the show Stan Sallinger came out to play the Star Spangled Banner. Bing Westlake was sitting there with a look of despair and boredom with the whole audience just ignoring him. The anthem finished, then I had a girl faint right in front of me and there was a bit of confusion, but she was fine. While this was going on, there was an argument between Stan and Westlake and Stan threatens to throw him out of the building. Then some unknown woman comes out identified as Ms. Watson, which apparently is the newly hired "assistant director of operations". For some reason she isn't happy with Sallinger's performance as president, claims that Stan has been abusing his power, having a personal vendetta against certain wrestlers. Excuse me? Stan hasn't had a vendetta, it is Bing who has the vendetta, and is the one who started it all, signed the loser leaves town match. NO ONE FORCED HIM TO AGREE TO IT YOU WITCH! If you had a problem with it, the time to stop it was before the last week of November, NOT three months later!!! And Bing never honored the stips he agreed to, which isn't surprising. And by the way, what Vince McMahon has been doing the past five years in his feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Eric Bischoff running around with the NWO and cow towing to Triple-H while flushing WWE RAW down the toilet to stroke his ego does not compare at all to Stan's performance. Isn't happy about some of the notes posted on the forum. Yeah so? I’m not happy with a lot of crap that’s been posted here, but that’s for the moderators to regulate. Then she complains about Tom Arson getting into the title match. Hey Rip let him in the match. So she says Stan is fired. Now, it's obvious what's going on here. This is a coup d’etat by some Janey-come-lately who thinks she can run the promotion better than anyone and had to have gotten some attorney of flaws from the Consortium to give her some bad legal advice to run this power-play. Be prepared for wrestlers to whack you with chairs, powerbomb you through tables, and leave you bruised and bloody like Stan had to experience over the past year. Have fun lady. This all does not sit well with the crowd, but she ignores the crowd completely and orders security to remove Stan from the ring, then declares the loser leaves town stip null and void reinstating Bing Westlake unconditionally and gives him a title match against El Diablo Silverado next month. That witch. Okay folks, from now on, she is to be known as Marjorie "Witchy" Watson. Your ring announcer is Jimmy "The Bruiser" Osbourne who introduces the first match.

Eric Logan (1-3) 5'10" 173lbs. Palm Springs, FL vs. Billy "The Kid" Grissom (1-1) 5'10" 172lbs. Riverton, IL w/ Earl Grissom – Headlock Billy, reverse, head slap Eric. Lockup, takedown Billy, leg trip into a headlock by Eric. Trade offs of pin covers. Billy tries to pin with both feet on the ropes. Earl isn’t pleased. Arm drags, Billy kicks Eric outside. Billy mounts on the top rope and dives for a crossbody to the floor. Fight outside, Eric with an Irish whip reversed Eric crashes into the stairs. Billy gets Eric back in, Irish whip to the corner but Eric gets a sunset flip for two. Billy with a takedown and a quick two count. Billy on the top rope, Eric bumps the ropes causing Billy to slip and crotch himself then falls to the floor. Eric goes on the apron and does a standing moonsault on Billy outside. Back in Eric bodyslams Grissom. Logan Irish whip Billy clotheslines him down. Backbreaker from Billy gets two. Grissom locks in a form of the Texas Cloverleaf and torques Eric but he doesn’t submit. Eric reverses a suplex attempt and does a gut wrench suplex instead. Billy tries for a tornado DDT but Eric blocks it and does an overhead suplex with a bridge getting two. Irish whip by Eric, but Billy catches him in a DDT for a two count. Billy decides to get a chair, Earl tries talking him out of it. Billy swings and misses but hits the rope and bounces it into his head. Eric with a slam, then a frog splash from the top to finish him off. Good opener.

WINNER: Eric Logan pin -> (2-3) 8:10 mins. ***

Lucious P. Cotrane (1-0) 5'10" 230lbs. "Land of Lucious" vs. Don't call me "The Khaos Kidd" no more Steven Bishop (1-4) 5'7" 200lbs. Springfield, IL w/ Cult Leader RON & "The Iron Chef" Leo...errr...Adam Deacon - Every day RON or one of his cult members come up with a song honoring himself, which is retarded and scary. They got really mad when I did a parody of Afroman's "Cause I Got High" to RON's followers. This is the long anticipated match between the wrestler and his ex-manager. The cult comes out with a tray of kool-aid, Bing Westlake is dumb enough to take a cup and drink it, he spews it all over RON as it did not apparently taste good. So the chef can't cook and he can't brew either, and Westlake forgot not to consume anything from "The Chef" when he ate the bad crumpets last year. Khaos Kidd is still impersonating Right to Censor. Lockup rollup LPC, hiptosses, armdrags, Irish Whip Kidd sent to the corner, LPC grabs him from an atomic drop, then an inverted atomic drop. Side suplex LPC, Kidd in the corner LPC punches him in the back of the knees, Kidd rolls out. LPC follows, eye rake LPC chases RON around the ring into a waiting Chef with the clothesline. LPC thrown back in, Kidd chokes him. Irish whip and clothesline from Kidd gets two. Another Irish whip and a powerslam gets two. Suplex from Kidd, he tries climbing to the top rope only to get slammed off. Spinebuster from LPC leads to a Liontamer, which RON hops up on the ring apron causing LPC to let go. Irish whip to the corner, Kidd stumbles into a KICK WHAM STUNNER but The Chef yanks the referee out. RON tries to nail LPC with the brick in the book but LPC takes it away and clocks him in the head. Chef in and face slams LPC into the brick and Kidd covers for the stolen win. Brutal.

WINNER: "Khaos Kidd" Steven Bishop pin -> (2-4) 7:30 mins. *½

After gloating over another stolen victory, the cult decides to jump back in the ring and kidnap LPC. They think they can hold one man prisoner for a month and friends and family would not form a posse to rescue him?

Jimmy tries to introduce the next match but is interrupted by Scotty Cash and Guy Smith. The catcalling by the crowd gets very original. Guy Smith announces that Dredd Walker could not be here tonight. He says people have been telling him, "Guy, that belt is like Big Red gum, it looks good on you." Cash slaps Smith on the butt. "All Female" chant breaks out, Guy gets pissed and threatens to teach us a lesson. Calls us stupid, the belt he has means he's the best. He's the Alpha Male. Enjoy the show, even though he's not wrestling in it. Out comes Michael Shard. He thanks Smith for holding his belt for him and wants it back. Smith says it's not his belt anymore he beat RWJ for it. Shard says he's a second rate wrestler like Cash, he wants his belt cause he's the best. (Quick check...so far Smith is 6-3 and Shard is 3-5, oops.) Smith cuts him off, he says Shard's all talk, and he's the biggest baddest man. Shard wants a match with him, Smith refuses, crowd taunts Smith for being a chicken. Smith can't take the chants so he decides to go ahead and defend his belt against him. Shard says he's unbeatable as another "All Female" chant breaks out and the ring clears. Jimmy then introduces the next match again.

Sage Ramsey (5-2) 6'4" 268lbs. Peoria, IL & Jason Wells (2-4) 6'0" 230lbs. Kansas City, MO (0-0-1) vs. Sigma Omega Beta (1-0-1) Carbondale, IL "Big Man on Campus" Garret Ryan (1-0) 6'2" 232lbs. & "Toga" Steve Fisher (1-2) 5'10" 240lbs. w/ Prof. Philip H. Dempsey - For some reason Sage Ramsey is not being considered as a contender to the NMW Heavyweight title despite taking sole possession of third in the standings of win-loss records. Why? It seems there's one camp that just aren’t paying attention and another camp that's solidly anti-Sage. Also Toga Steve is now denying he ever had a singles match with Sage Ramsey, which occurred on 10/6/2K2 where he lost and despite the fact that I photographed the match while others ran video. I myself attended Southern Illinois, which is where the fraternity claims to be from, but am I torn on which team to root for? No sir. PHD is carrying a board with the Greek letters engraved on them. There was a group of rabid Toga fans behind me who chanted "sucks" every time someone did a "Ramsey" chant. Wells and Ramsey come out giving Twinkies to fans at ringside. Brawl to start, spear by Wells, spear by Sage, Wells clotheslines Toga out. Double Irish whip and double back body drop by Wells. Wells and Ryan start. Wells punches out Ryan in the corner, Irish whip powerslam gets two. Tag Sage. Punches, a headbutt and a Sage slam. Leg drop gets two for Sage. Arm bar, tag Wells. Irish whip into an armdrag. Ryan is getting squashed here. Irish whip into a Wells hip toss for two. Tag Sage, Sage with some headbutts and a elbow drop for another two. Sage holds Ryan up to be punched by Wells, tag. Double-team hip toss and a cover for two. Irish whip reverse into a slam from Ryan to end the domination streak. Ryan punches Wells in the corner and finally gets the tag to Toga. Beatdown, Toga continues the kicks. Locks in an armbar, more punches. Wells comes back, Toga rakes the eyes, Irish whip, double axe to the chest gets a two. Tag Ryan, Irish whip clothesline, running double elbow, Ryan applies a rear chinlock. Irish whip to the corner and a clothesline. Punches, but Wells powerbombs Ryan. Wells crawls to his corner but Ryan cuts him off. Tag Toga. Suplex gets two. Toga applies a camel clutch. Wells gets to his feet, and side suplexs Toga down. Wells with a firemans carry slam. Wells makes the tag, as does Toga. Clotheslines all over from Sage, following by boots to the face. Sage with a Rock Bottom. Wells appears to be hurt, Sage checks on him in between moves. Clothesline from Ryan. Wells gets back into the fray to keep it going. Sage gets back up and grabs Toga for a back-to-belly slam, he calls it "The Final Fall", no cover though. Brawl continues, Ryan grabs Sage and hits the Hot Shot. Wells pulls Ryan outside where they brawl. Sage and Toga are lying down in the ring as the referee counts to ten and stops it. Never mind Ryan was the legal man and not Toga. Crap, who booked THAT finish? Haven't seen a double KO in a tag match in ages. Wells and Ryan are slugging it out on the outside, PHD with the stick, Ryan with a chair, Wells punches out PHD, Ryan whacks Wells with the chair. Wells clotheslines Ryan as they slug it out through the curtain. Sage gets up, Toga up, kick to the midsection, Sage clotheslines Toga out. Sage flips over the rope. Sage and Toga keep slugging it out, Sage gets the better of it and fight through the curtain. Wells stated that this match was stiff as hell, and had the nasty-looking welts on his arms to prove it. The potential tag title tournament requires another reshuffle.

NO WINNER: Double KO -> 10 mins. ***

Central IL Title Match

[c]El Diablo Silverado (4-3) 5'8" 173lbs., Beardstown, IL vs. "The Cruiserweight Redneck" Earl Grissom (2-4) 5'10" 170lbs., Rushville, IL w/Billy Grissom - Billy Grissom of course, handed this match to Earl on a silver platter. Bing Westlake holds a big sign with a mask drawing and a big red NO figure through it, which Silverado stops to jaw at him. Once in the ring, Silverado throws his shirt at him, Bing shouts an insult that EDS apparently doesn't get. Arm wingers traded, headlock by EDS to the mat. Irish whip, flip blocked, arm tosses into a stalemate. Earl misses with a drop kick. Corner punches by EDS, tries for the Unprettier but Earl twists out and clotheslines him down. Punching bag in the corner, and Earl takes a bite out of the mask. What'd he do, bite his nose? EDS with a drop kick, Earl responds with a neckbreaker. Leg lock applied, neck pull by Earl, works on the leg some more. Back up, EDS hops on the ropes and lands a flying punch. Earl kicks the knee from the mat, dragon screw leg whip from Earl. Slam, he applies the Texas Cloverleaf. Doesn't hold it long, as he drives his head into the knee. Snap suplex from Earl, followed by some punches in the corner. Irish whip reversed into a bulldog from EDS. Slam, EDS off the middle rope with a leg drop that gets two. Crowd for some reason is just quiet throughout the match. More punches, and a double clothesline by EDS. Billy decides to get involved and picks up a chair. Bing decides to get up and waltz around the perimeter of the gym. Billy in the ring, Earl tells him to back off, Bing in the ring, goes for the Unprettier himself but EDS reverses and gives it. Billy and Earl argue but EDS small packages him for three. Gee Billy, what the heck were you thinking? Getting Earl DQ'ed? Match just had no heat at all until Westlake stuck his nose in. Billy Grissom freaks out and kicks the referee, then whacks Earl with a chair as security jumps in to attempt breaking it up. Silverado brawls with Bing to the back.

WINNER and STILL Champ: El Diablo Silverado pin -> 9:35 mins. **

Stan Sallinger comes out to say a few words and goodbye. Witchy Watson comes out. Stan says he may have done some things wrong (no you didn't!) in getting rid of a paying customer (Bing signed the loser leaves town match, he lost, hate to beat a dead horse no one held a gun to his head to agree to it) but thinks he still has a place in NMW and pays Witchy the bucks to train full-time. Music hits and whoop there he is...out comes "Danger" Doug Frazier...err Fraze. Asks if he paid Witchy the money to train. Complains about being held down by Stan and was fired earlier so he wants a match with him. Stan tries to beg him off, Doug makes note of the Jason Wells shirt Stan's wearing and slaps him up the chin. Stan calls him a sophomore. Doug insults him and Stan says ring the bell. The match is on!

"Danger" Doug Frazier...err Fraze (0-1) 6'6" 275lbs.Chicago, IL vs. Overthrown President Stan Sallinger (0-0) 6'3" weight unknown, Springfield, IL – Test of strength, Doug winning it, but Stan flips Doug over. Doug strikes back with a knee. Doug clotheslines Stan and uses him as a punching bag in the corner, chops away. Stan hits back. Irish whip to the corner, armdrag and elbow for a one count. Irish whip to the corner and a hip toss gets one. Irish whip reversal, Doug drives the shoulder into the gut, then chokes with the foot. Irish whip reverse, leap frog, Doug clotheslines Stan out of the ring. Suicide dive from Doug to the floor. Bodyslam and Doug gets back in as the ref counts. He gets to nine as Stan gets on the apron, ref stops the count, Doug shouts ten and argues with the ref that he should be declared the winner by countout. Stan sunset flips back in for two. Irish whip to the corner, Doug with a huge splash. Another Irish whip, Doug tries something but Stan grabs the leg for a rollup of two. Irish whip, reversal, Doug with a side slam and leg drop. These guys are completely out of gas and sucking wind.

Doug slowly goes out and mounts the top rope but gets slammed off by Stan. Stan with a clothesline for two. Stan with a drop kick to the belly! Almost didn’t get off the ground high enough there. Slam, elbow gets Stan two. Stan locks in the full nelson swing slam but catches the referee in the swing taking him down. Stan sees he’s out, so he proceeds to punch out Doug in the corner, but Doug low blows him, then powerbombs him from the corner and covers with his feet on the ropes for the win. Not a great outing.

WINNER: "Danger" Doug Fraze pin -> (1-1) 9:40 mins. *½

Jimmy introduces Tom Arson for the next match but Scotty Cash comes out instead and methinks Jimmy introduced the wrong match. He has a black basketball and some twenties in his headband. His shirt says "I eat kryptonite for breakfast" and the shorts say "don't hate". He orders everyone repeatedly to sit down and shut up. Crowd is not cooperative and shouts nasty stuff at him. The reason he's out here is to give out some money. He'll give $40 to any kid who can dribble a basketball. He thinks he's the "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase! He looks for a kid in the audience; he picks a kid out and brings him into the ring. Cash asks for his name but keeps pulling the mike away from him, but finally we get the name Greg. Dribble the ball 15 times. Well the dribbling begins and when we get to 13, I thought he was gonna kick the ball but instead he shoves the kid down! I can't believe that! Ted Dibiase as bad a heel as he was never did that! That infuriates the crowd. Cash then tries offering a consolation prize, a Scotty Cash t-shirt. Greg takes the shirt and actually kicks Cash. Cash grabs the kid as I wonder what the heck he's doing and puts the child in the position of a pedigree. Call security! Get in there! Security doesn't make any moves and I actually shout at Cash that I'll jump the rail if I have to. Others are standing on their chairs ready to make a move. Finally Real World's music hits and Cash turns his attention toward the curtain but still has a hold of the kid. That idiot. Cash runs his mouth, Real World says if he hits the kid 250, 251 people will rush that ring and kick his ***. Cash bails out of the ring, security takes the child to the back thank God. Real World actually shouts for me to give Cash's win-loss record of 5-2, RWJ says Cash you trying to make your record 5-3 against the kid? He wants him in the ring for the match right now, he's pissed at him for costing him the NMW title last month. Cash doesn't want to, chicken chants start, Cash gets in the ring...let's throw in quickly the introductions...

Scotty Cash (5-2) 5'9" 170lbs. "Yo Mammas House" vs. Real World Jeremy (3-2-1) 6'2" 242lbs. Denver, CO -- Cash tries throwing punches but RWJ grabs him and drills Cash with a monstrous spinebuster, cover, legs hooked, gets the three count!

WINNER: Real World Jeremy pin -> (4-2-1) FIVE SECONDS FLAT!!! (No Rating)

Yes it was indeed a five second fall as I timed the match against the tape on review. That's the fastest fall I've ever seen! Good good good. That was the best possible outcome of this incident. Cash can't believe it and complains to the ref that the bell never rang, the match never officially started, and wants the match to start "for real" now. Referee refuses and raises RWJ's arm. Cash throws a major temper tantrum and leaves thank God. Child abuse isn't kosher, and that's not an angle I want to witness again. Geez, and people were telling me they were sure I was gonna jump the rail to attack RON first. Cash is now the most hated man in NMW bar none. Don't hate, don't hate, ya made us all feel more than hate darn you! Jimmy salutes Jeremy, asks for the time and hears five seconds. Hopes all the interruptions of his ring introductions are over. Now he introduces the match we were supposed to see at this point in the show.

Rip Mystic (7-3) 5'8" 180lbs. Hannibal, MO vs. Tom Arson (1-5) 6'5" 260lbs. St. Louis, MO -- Arson needs a victory badly here. Clothesline Arson, rips off Rip’s shirt. Slams Rip. Arson tries a sunset flip and is blocked off an Irish whip. Rip with a flying elbow gets two. Arson outside, Rip with a crossbody from the top rope to the floor. Back in, Arson rakes the eyes, drops Rip on the top turnbuckle for snake eyes, and drives the elbow. Tom with a chokehold, suplex, kicks in the corner. Irish whip reverse back body drop from Rip. He works on the knee and applies a figure four. He lets go, but Arson makes it up on his feet and clotheslines Rip down. Slam gets Arson two. Goes for the moonsault and gets NOTHING. Rip with a slam, misses a kick but clotheslines Arson down. Rip teases a chokeslam by grabbing Tom’s neck but does a spinning back heel kick and gets two out of it. Rip tries a standing moonsault but meets up with the knees. Arson does an F5 but doesn’t cover. Arson tries a backdrop but is blocked, and eats a superkick. 450 splash finishes.

WINNER: Rip Mystic pin -> (8-3) 7:50 mins. ***

Arson picks up his sixth loss and now currently has the worst record in NMW, no thanks to Guy Smith. Tom Arson gets up and attacks Rip, throws the ref into the ropes, then gives him the Liberty Spike piledriver to get some heat back.

NMW Heavyweight Title Match

[c]"MPW Heavy Hitter, NMW Alpha Male, Fans All Female" Guy Smith (6-3) vs. Michael Shard (3-5) 5'8" 160 lbs. Santa Monica, CA - Well it was supposed to be Dredd Walker, but for some reason he could not wrestle tonight, reasons unknown. Guy Smith of course is champion because of Scotty Cash. Lockup, Smith shoves him and does some pushups. Shard does some one handed pushups in response. Hard slap from Shard in the corner. Fans come up with some interesting insults for Smith involving a facelift. Guy Irish whip into a tilt-a-whirl but Shard armdrags him on the way down. Shard armdrags Smith repeatedly, and off Irish whips. Bodyslam Guy but Shard holds on and they’re in the ropes. Guy kicks Shard in the corner, Irish whip, splash, Guy slams him for two. Punches, Irish whip, clothesline misses, elbow connects getting Guy a two count. Insults from the crowd get worse. Guy applies a rear chin lock, not a full camel clutch. Shard flips him off, and armdrags him again. Shard applies the Code Red, Guy gets up and slams him for two. Clothesline, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, regular backbreaker, choke, and a side suplex gets two. Applies a chinlock, Guy jumps straight up to sit hard on Shard’s back but he flips over to get him with the knees instead. Shard with another armdrag and a kick to the knees. Guy clotheslines him down. Shard sunset flip for two. Shard with a dragon screw leg whip and a leg bar. Irish whip, baseball slide and a drop kick from Shard. Action spills outside, Guy boomerangs Shard into the post. Guy kicks away, tries a slam but can’t hold it as Shard rolls him up for two. Clothesline Guy, belly-to-belly suplex, Guy climbs up, Shard shoves him off getting him stuck in the tree of woe. Shard to the other side ready to charge, charges for a drop kick but connects on the referee, uh oh. Shard tries again and drop kicks Smith in the knee, then a kick to the crotch, and the Sickle Hold/Cutting Edge is locked in. Cash is out, splash off the top rope onto Shard. Puts Smith on top, RWJ runs out and pulls Smith off to prevent the count. Chases Cash away. Guy holds the referee like he’s gay or something. Guy gets with it and punches away on Shard. Guy with the Lightening Strike gets two. Guy with the Death Valley Driver gets two. Shard responds with a German suplex. Kip-up Shard, Irish whip, toss neckbreaker gets two. Slam Shard, top rope missile drop kick gets two. Low blow from Guy. DVD attempt by Smith, Shard flips his way out of it. Irish whip, baseball slide by Shard gets tangled up with Smith's legs, Shard tries getting up but suddenly grabs his foot and I wonder if he's feigning injury here. Smith picks him up, Shard does a low blow, Smith shrugs it off and hooks him for "A Little Inspiration" double underhook flip slam to the side and gets the three count. Shard is holding his foot, and he may indeed have hurt himself. He's helped to the back, but was limping around afterward. Smith slaps away an autograph book some fan was trying to collect. Show over. Glad the BBI wasn't around.

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: "Alpha Male" Guy Smith pin -> (7-3) 20 mins. ****½

Already we have matches for the 3/22 Rivalry show from Witchy as we have El Diablo Silverado to defend against the reinstated Bing Westlake, Dredd Walker to wrestle Guy Smith in a makeup title match, and we will finally get Rip Mystic vs. Real World Jeremy. Real World Jeremy and Scotty Cash will have to have another match in a couple months to make up for this Dibiase incident. Excellent match to finish out the show, a couple sub-par matches but nothing really bad. Show lasted about 2 hours and 15 minutes, even with the late start the show was over before 10pm. Still need the 7th inning stretch period at halftime.
