Well where do I begin with this? For the month of July life for a bunch of us has been just pure hectic. Rather than reinvent the wheel and making this rap sheet much much longer in documenting the mess that the Sagnamon County Board and the Gardner Township District has been putting us through, this article documents what's been going on and how NMW is now in the lurch because of these guys:

The Crimefighter would like to note that the four unfriendly, mean-looking, hermit-like neighbors pictured in the print edition of the article are not the kind of people I would want to live next to. The guy on the left in the photo is a burnout, and I had a run-in with this malcontent at one of these board meetings for simply asking about where a certain website was that had objectionable content. These people don't want that building there, they should come up with the $700K to buy the place themselves then they can do whatever they see fit with the place or shut up. All they want one big wheat field around them, but with the city of Springfield growing in their direction they think they can hold the city back forever and prevent all business development along this major state and county highway. If they want to live as hermits so badly they should just move to a state like Montana, which is very rural and people are very few and far betweeen.

Tonight's show is in memory of Alexis Homeier, the daughter of Jamie Homeier aka "Hot Valet" who used to be in the corner of "Alpha Male" Guy Smith and the niece of Rip Mystic. This event is a fundraiser for the Mother's For Water Safety Coalition (www.mfwsc.com), where NMW is taking donations for a raffle and silent auction. Attendance for the paid portion of the event ended up being 220 or so.

Alexis Homeier Memorial Tournament Round One - Time Limit: 15 minutes

Because of the length of the previous show, time limits are in play to keep the show at a normal length. To keep time I found a decent timer program for my Palm Pilot so I'll see easily how much time is left and signal Jimmy when time is winding down.

El Diablo Silverado (11-8) 5'8" 173lbs. Beardstown, IL w/ Eric Logan vs. "Rather Charming" Bradley Stephens (7-7) 6'0" 225lbs. Las Vegas, NV - Stephens is on a four match losing streak. EDS is one half of the tag champs. Lockup shovedown and Brad bails. Lockup waistlock, Brad backs him in the corner, whip reverse EDS with a bulldog. Japanese armdrags EDS, back body drop. Monkey flip EDS, hurraconranna gets two. Brad rake, knee lift, axe to the head, elbow, dumb cover gets two. Brad suplex, choke, fistdrop, rear chinlock. EDS fights out, flying headscissors gets two. EDS whip reverse Juvy Driver gets two. EDS whip reverse jumping knee Brad. Turnbuckle smash, shoulderblocks, rope burn, whip clothesline Brad. KO punch Brad gets two. Brad hip toss face plant, he goes on the second rope then argues with someone in the crowd and EDS rolls up him for the win. Tom Arson claims he cheated and gets into a spat with EDS as he leaves.

"Cruiserweight Redneck" Earl Grissom (11-10-0-1) 5'10" 170lbs. Rushville, IL vs. Tricky Dick Moore (4-4) 5'10" 180lbs. Beaverdale, PA w/ Peter McDonald Sanders- Earl hands an ear of corner to a fan. Armwringer Earl, Moore reverses it, hammerlock, headlock Earl, shove to the corner. Moore pounds on him, chokes away, Tricky whip reverse to the corner, hard whip to the corner Earl and Tricky bails. Earl jumps out after him but something's wrong, he's limping. Tricky back in but Earl is slow to get back in and Moore nails him. Rear chinlock Tricky, Earl tries a spinning neckbreaker but flops to the mat. Moore picks him up and hits the move and wins it. What happened to Grissom? He had suffered a bad groin injury two days ago hampering him greatly during this match. Real unfortunate. Earl had to be helped to the back.

Eric Logan (10-8) 5'10" 173lbs. Palm Springs, FL w/ El Diablo Silverado vs. "Soon To Be" Justin MacIntyre (debut) 215lbs. Barry, Ontario, Canada w/ Stephani King - Logan is the other half of the tag champs. Stephani has that camcorder again. MacIntyre has the mike and goes on and on...Zzzzzzz...he says his girl will get out of the ring if Logan gets his out. They take turns showing off, Justin tries the clothesline, Logan slugs him and Justin bails. Logan chases him back in, MacIntyre stomps him, whip clothesline. MacIntyre gets the chop, whip corner splash missed, Logan drop kick, suplex gets two. Poke Justin, superkick, uppercut, snap mare, rear chinlock. Logan jawbreaker, whip spinning heel kick gets two. Justin whip behind the back shoulderbreaker which is called the "Kryptonite Krunch neckbreaker". RUDE AWAKENING MacIntyre gets two! Justin whip reverse splash Logan, Northern Lights suplex gets two! Powerslam Logan, he goes up, moonsault misses. Spinning rock bottom called the "Justification" by Justin, he goes up, backsplash misses. Logan gets up, whip back elbow gets two. Logan whip reverse tilt-a-whirl flapjack. Justin turnbuckle smash, rope burn, King on the apron, EDS forces her to get down and film him. Justin protests, Logan sitdown fisherman's buster called the "Orange Crush" and wins it.

Drop kick on the mat, OK roll KC into the ropes. Crossbody KC gets two. KC charges stun gun Stan, slam, stomps, legdrop gets two. Stan whip elbow gets two. Camel clutch Stan, sits on him, snap mare, rear chinlock, headlock. KC sunset flip gets two. Stan clothesline, two palm cover gets two. Stan whip hip toss gets two. Atomic drop Stan, enziguri KC, he goes up, Stan trips him. Stan tries the superplex, gets pushed down, KC missile dropkick gets two. KC slugs away, whip reverse, drop toe hold KC, he goes up again, crossbody KC. Cherry jumps on the apron and ties up the ref, KC walks over, Stan grabs him for the swinging full nelson slam and its over. BLEH!

Yes, Elite still has that title from the Quad Cities. Lockup, hip toss Elite. Lockup, slam Elite. Armdrag Shard, hip toss, slam and Elite bails. After a while back in, lockup, armbar Elite, wristlock Shard. Lockup, waistlock Elite, reverse, takedown Elite, hammerlock Shard, Elite turns it around, Shard turns it and slaps him off. Elite headlock, shoveoff shoulder Shard, Shard charges Elite and gets thrown over then Stan pulls him off and stomps away. Apron slam Stan, Elite goes out to pound on him, toss in, count gets two. Snap mare Elite, flipping neck snap, he works him in the corner, choke, hard whip crash goes Shard. Swinging neckbreaker Elite gets two. Elite delayed release suplex for two. Rear chinlock Elite, Shard slugs his way out, clotheslines, KO punch, snap suplex gets two. Russian leg sweep Shard gets two. Shard slugs away, whip reverse Stan trips him, then Elite dumps him. Shard takes out Stan, sunset flip in on Elite gets two. Shard rollup gets two, crucifix blocked, Northern Lights Elite gets two. Elite whip, Shard rolls him into the cutting edge sickle hold, but Stan's on the apron, Shard releases it and walks over there but Elite hits a neckbreaker and its over. BLEH! Quite a bit of chain wrestling, picked up at the end but it took a while.

Carbondale, IL - This is Rip's first match back from that back injury, and he's wrestling in honor of his late niece of whom this tournament is named after. They shake hands to start, lockup to the corner, clean break. Lockup, chops Mystic, whip to the corner, Freshman dodges a charge, dropkick, flying headscissors Boston. Suicide crossbody Boston on the floor. Mystic whip drop toe hold Boston, armbar Mystic, reversed, kick, armdrag Boston, drops the knees on the arm. Mystic does an armdrag but Boston hangs on, whip wheelbarrow bulldog Boston gets two. Mystic slugs away and puts on a rear chinlock, whip hurraconranna Boston gets two. Boston slips out of the ring, apron slams Mystic, toss in, double fist drop gets two. Rip chops away, whip charge, drop toe hold into the buckle Boston, tornado DDT Boston gets two. Mystic whip flying headscissors Boston, he slugs away, suplex blocked, he pounds the back and suplexes him for two. Boston whip reverse Rip eats a boot, flying body tackle Boston gets two. OK roll Boston gets two. Small package Boston gets two. Mystic whip charges and eats a boot, crossbody, Rip rolls through and hits the impaler DDT and wins it.

"The Mississippi Madman" Don Jackson (3-1-2) 6'2" 350lbs. Olive Branch, MS vs. "The Marvel" Shane Matthews (1-2) 6'0" 195lbs. Atlantic City, GA w/ Hardcore KC - Shane dives in and slugs away on the Madman, Jackson misses the clotheslines, Shane tries a whip but gets booted down. Shane goes after the leg, drop kick, spin kick to the head gets two. Jackson with a shot to the throat, whip side slam, KO punch. A PWO guys holds a chair wanting to pick a fight, Madman drops an elbow for two. Short arm clothesline Jackson, suplex, Madman charges and misses the clothesline, Shane side kick, Shane is whipped to the corner, he tries to hop over Madman, sunset flip attempt is met with a sitdown. Madman whip avalaunce in the corner, running of the ropes SPEAR Madman. Madman signals the chokeslam, but he gets the IRON CLAW instead! Shane kips up to get out of it, he slugs away, Madman with one blow to stop it. Throwdown Madman, splash misses. Running drop kick Shane, flip legdrop, elbow gets two. Shane goes up, blockbuster one arm cover gets two. Shane tries to pick him up, Madman hits a Samoan drop instead, then the lights go out! Someone walks by with a chair and jumps in the ring and knocks Madman out to the floor outside where he gets counted out. Jason Wells congrats Shane Matthews. Hmmm...methinks the Khaos Kidd did it. Madman gets up and is throwing a temper tantrum.

"Alpha Male" Guy Smith (18-10) 6'0" 255lbs. Rapid City, SD w/ Cherry Malone vs. "Toga" Steve Fisher (5-7-1) 5'10" 240lbs. Carbondale, IL - Here's a rematch from a couple months ago where Toga Steve got a title shot from a reverse decision. Notice also that Witchy Watson is no where to be found tonight, thus the "Alpha Male Curse" as I predicted just claimed another victim. Lockup, gets nothing. Smith does pushups, lockup to the corner, clean break. Lockup again, headlock takedown Toga. Hip toss Toga, headlock takedown, headscissors, headlock takedown Smith. Headlock takedown Toga. Guy gets up, Toga slugs away, clotheslines Smith over the top. Smith gets back in, kick, headlock, Toga elbows out, and hurls Smith out. Smith walks over to complain to us, Toga with a suicide crossbody to the floor. Toga rams him in the apron, apron slam, whip reverse Toga hits the post, whip into another post. Smith tosses him in gets two. Smith whip elbow gets two. Smith tries a slam, KICK WHAM DDT Toga gets two. Toga charges and eats a boot, Smith whip tries to hop over but gets German suplexed for two. Toga Steve hits the Hazing inverted swinging neckbreaker. Cherry gets on the apron to stop a count, LOW BLOW Smith, Little Inspiration Smith and its over. Hogwash. Guy Smith walks over to the board and moves his name over to the second round bracket. Not as good as the last time they fought alas.

Doug Dennis is in the ring explaining what's going on with the county board and how much money he's invested in the site, but the neighbors want to be hermits and tear down most of Bradfordton. Over 200 signers on a petition was given to the board, after they voted it down, 100 phone calls came in complaining about the decision. The neighbors are videotaping the action in the parking lot to gather evidence, but lets no one else see the tapes. The owner ain't giving up the fight yet.

Highlight video of last month airs, along with comments by everyone in the tourney about what they say they will accomplish. Jason Devall comes out and runs over the second round matches and the charity NMW is raising money for. A gentlemen comes in to sing the national anthem.

They tease each other to start, lockup, they swing each other around. Stan with a clothesline, three slams in a row gets two. Stan stomps away, whip Stan hip toss gets two. Stan whip spinebuster gets two. Stan pickup, reverse elbow, Logan goes outside, Elite yanks him off and EDS slugs him down. Stan goes out and almost slugs a fan with the exact same hairdo. Logan slingshot senton gets two. Stan LOW BLOW, gut wrench suplex gets two. Stan whip backbreaker, backbreaker, side slam gets two. Stan puts on the Boston Crab hold it but lets it go. Stan yanks Logan off the ropes gets two. Stan stomps away, whip crash in the corner, elbow to the back gets two. Stan whip to the corner, splash missed, rollup Logan gets two. Minneapolis, MN w/ Stan Sallinger - Mystic comes out wearing a jacket that was auctioned off two years ago in the benefit auction. Chops by Elite, Rip just glares at him, then chops him. Rip whip back body drop, drop kick, Rip knocks off Stan, Elite goes sailing over the top to the floor. Mystic suicide dive from the top rope to the floor! Rip slingshots Elite back in, whip powerslam Rip gets two. Rip whip handspring backsplash, slam, Rip goes up. Elite meets him with a kick, fisherman's suplex gets two. Elite whip backbreaker and stretch, gutwrench suplex gets two. Elite puts Rip in the tree of woe, Stan holds him, Rip knocks Stan away, then bounces Elite's head like a basketball after the missed baseball slide. Rip whip elbow, whip reverse clothesline Elite gets two. Rear chinlock Elite, Rip up, he slugs Elite in the corner, whip reverse and Ricky the ref gets nailed. Stan in to attack Rip, suplex, Elite winds up Rip with the green spew on Elite, spew on Stan. Mystic whips Stan into Elite, impaler DDT on Stan. Mystic goes up, 450 splash on Elite and pins him.

Atlantic City, GA w/ Hardcore KC - Tom Arson gives a completely different prediction to win the whole tourney, yep. All his prior picks keep losing. Lockup, armdrags Shane, armbar. Smith whip armdrag Shane, Smith whip enzuigiri Shane. Matthews slingshots Smith in, armdrag, crossarm breaker, Smith turns it over and gets two, then picks him up and slams him down. Smith backbreaker gets one. Smith whip crash in the corner. Smith does pushups, whip he eats a boot. Sunset flip Shane gets two. Suplex by Guy gets two. Smith whip Matthews gets a Samoan drop for two. Shane slam, he goes up, Cherry Malone shoves him off the top in FULL VIEW of James Welden. KC chases Cherry to the back, Shane tries the enzuigiri and misses, camel clutch Smith, Shane slips his arm off the knee to tap out. WHERE THE HECK WAS THE DQ??? 15-Man Battle Royal - Central IL Championship

Land of Lucious - Well 4GQ resorted to breaking up a Freshman vs. Rian Cruz finale cause he didn't want to defend against either and they interrupted his title defense to save LPC's rear. Now he has to defend the title under battle royal rules, but now he resorts to handcuffing himself to the middle rope so he can't be ejected. The bloody heck? Why are they allowing him to do that? In the ring we have: Matt Boston, Rian Cruz, Cherry Malone, Chris Hazard, Russ Staley, Sinnister, Danger Doug Fraze, Michael Shard, Toga Steve, Bradley Stephens, Justin MacIntyre, Hardcore KC, Mississippi Madman, and JJ Tank. Yes JJ Tank is back after that freak training accident where he broke his leg. Everyone starts on LPC but then they all break away beating up each other. Fraze pounds on LPC, Rian Cruz and Cherry Malone go at it. Fraze tries to get rid of Shard, Tank after Boston, Shard knocks MacIntyre out first. Russ Staley gets eliminated by someone, didn't see. Sinnister tries to get Cherry out. Madman and Sinnister staredown and they fight. Danger and Rian get rid of Cherry Malone. Shard slugs on Hazard. Rian works on KC, Shard tosses Hazard. LPC is still cuffed. Sinnister press slams Boston out, and he injures his knee in the process. Sinnister gets dumped by Madman. Rian works on Stephens. Madman stomps on Danger. Shard tries to dump KC. Madman gets in Rian's face and chokes her, LOW BLOW Fraze. Shard throws KC out. Someone throws LPC a beer. Shard dropkicks him. Tank and Toga pounds Madman. Shard rakes LPC. Danger almost dumps Brad, then knocks him off. Shard goes after Madman, Tank wants Danger, kick powerbomb Fraze. Rian and Fraze throw Tank out. Rian then suddenly starts slugging away on Danger, and he's surprised. Fraze finally hits her back, and everyone stops to watch. Fraze throws her out, Rian walks away happy and cheerful, no disappointment at all. Toga, Shard and Fraze go after Madman, but Toga and Shard pull back and Fraze slugs away on Madman. Toga and Shard slug away, hey they tagged last month. Fraze dumps Madman by himself! Toga dumps Shard out. Toga and Fraze try to figure out what they're gonna do about LPC and the cuffs, they start slugging him, force him over the top hanging by that arm, then try to pull him down to the floor. Fraze charges LPC but splashes Toga instead. Fraze tries to dump Toga, whip Toga clothesline. Toga says quit messing around, go after LPC. Toga then tries to dump Fraze, but LOW BLOW kick. Toga tries to belly to belly him out, but Fraze tries to powerbomb him, Toga tries to dump Fraze but LPC dumps them both out to win it. BAH!

WINNER and STILL CHAMP: Lucious P. Cotrain -> (11-7) 14:10 mins.

Well I thought it was over and ring the bell, but the lights go out again and the Undertaker Khaos Kidd as entrant #16 is in the ring, uses bolt cutters to break the cuffs and throws LPC out. The refs call for the bell and he's announced as the winner and new champ. What the heck? Okay this just doesn't cut it either way. LPC is ROYALLY pissed, well he used the cuffs to try saving his belt so it serves him right too. Battle royals usually aren't rated.

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: Khaos Kidd -> (3-9) 14:30 mins.

Causality of the battle royal, Matt Boston badly bruised or twisted his knee when he hit the floor. Alas, he was not able to put weight on it for a few days, couldn't sleep much with the pain, and it appears he won't be able to wrestle at the state fair as he'll have to spend time rehabbing it.

We get an announcement that the county board representatives and neighbors are standing outside videotaping everything that's going on in the parking lot. And THAT pisses me off.

Beardstown, IL - Here are the tag team champs, and they have met up in the final four, note they used to feud over the CI Title last year. Logan and EDS just tease each other. EDS with a slap, lockup, armbar EDS, hammerlock, reversed and lets go. Lockup, headlock Logan, reversed, shoveoff and EDS backdrops Logan out. Suicide dive EDS, he bounces Logan's head on the apron, toss in and gets two. EDS whip reverse, EDS is tossed out. Logan teases a dive, but EDS walks into a flying neckbreaker on the floor. Logan whip springboard clothesline EDS misses. Logan taunts him, EDS slugs away, Logan fires back, side suplex Logan gets two. Logan pounds away in the corner, Logan misses the splash, Juvy Driver EDS gets two. EDS whip knee to the gut, three in a row, ab stretch EDS, Logan hip tosses him. Snap suplex, northern lights suplex, gut wrench suplex, german suplex quadfecta Logan gets two. Logan whip reverse EDS bulldog, springboard crossbody, goes for the Unprettier but stalls, Logan hits the move himself instead and gets two. EDS slingshots Logan into the corner, then pins him with his feet on the ropes. Oh dear.

Logan and EDS argue in the ring over how EDS won. There goes my prediction. Logan gets the fans chanting for him, EDS storms off.

Sage whip back body drop, Billy bails again. Headlock Billy, Sage shoveoff shoulderblock, rake Billy. Powerslam Sage gets two, backbreaker gets two. Headbutt Sage, shot to the gut Billy, elbows gets two. Side slam Sage gets two. Snake eyes Sage, KO punch gets two. Sage slam, legdrop misses, Morgan works the leg, chokes away. Scotty Cash comes up with party stuff and puts hats on people in the crowd. I just notice that Sage is busted open. Sage pounds the heck out of Brad, and they slug it out to the back. Cash has the mike and says give Billy a round of applause. Cash says since he won the belt, let's celebrate. PHD protests about celebrating. Cash then reads a note, dear Billy, I hate you. Cash shoots streamers and confetti and says cause he's a golly good cheater. Cash then says cause he won the belt it makes him #1 contender. Morgan tries to refuse but the crowd chants cheater. Billy says he beat Cash before and will do it again. Cash calls for a couple beers. Cash says he likes climbing ladders and walks through the park. Morgan refuses to defend against him cause they will never be another show in NMW due to the Sagnamon County Board. Cash asks if he said he was offering him a shot at the title anywhere anyplace. Cash says there's a show at the IL State Fair. Billy tries to kick him, Cash slugs away, PHD with a chairshot, Billy takes him down, and chairshots him. Billy says if he can make it to the fair he gets his shot.

El Diablo Silverado (14-8) 5'8" 173lbs. Beardstown, IL w/ Cherry Malone vs. "Alpha Male" Guy Smith (21-10) 6'0" 255lbs. Rapid City, SD - Arson keeps calling EDS the masked idiot. Smith's leg is taped up. The last two times they fought, Smith took him out of the first round of the heavyweight title tourney, then put him through a table a couple months later. Arguement in the ring, Logan chant starts to ring out and EDS isn't happy. Drop toe hold EDS, knee slams on the bad knee. EDS then argues with Cherry, Smith nails him, whip clip by EDS. Eric chant gets EDS throwing a tantrum. Smith then slugs away whip reverse splash. EDS works the leg again, "cheater" chant now, EDS take the legs out cover gets zero. Texas cloverleaf EDS, but he doesn't turn it over. Smith gets the rope, then pounds away, whip corner, EDS hops over and hits the leg again. EDS whip reverse crash, side suplex on his head. Smith limps around, whip side slam gets two. Smith whip crash. Smith backbreaker on the bad leg gets two. Smith rams EDS in the corner, EDS blocks it on the other side and works the leg again, spinning toe hold. Smith whip powerslam gets two. Smith grinds the good knee in the back of EDS. Smith with a spinning Juvy Driver of sorts gets TWO! Smith whip EDS hits the Unprettier and gets TWO! Yikes. EDS goes for the move again, LOW BLOW Smith! EDS whip reverse Smith butterfly German suplex gets two! Guy gets the camel clutch but EDS is on his knees, stands up and drops him back. EDS on the top, legdrop off the top gets two. Dang. EDS is losing his cool, clothesline Smith. Suddenly Real World Jeremy's music starts playing? EDS with a victory roll and gets the pin!!!

Michael Shard comes out and Guy Smith is IRATE! Security has to pull them apart! Eric Logan comes out with the trophy and hands it to him. The cheat chant starts again but Logan quiets them down. Logan wants a hug but EDS refuses and gets the mike. EDS says he already had his time, it's his time and is tired of Logan stealing his spotlight and living in his shadow. EDS says he don't need Logan, he won so hit his music. Well what about the tag titles??? I'm just in bewilderment as Arson and Weities clap for EDS.

Jason Devall and Real World Jeremy come out to give out gifts for the raffles. RWJ has had such a hard year this year with all the crap going on it's just not funny. Anyway, they call for various members of the roster to give out gifts. Shane Matthews comes out first and gives away the Bud Light mirror. Hardcore KC comes out next to give away the bike. RWJ then brings in two fans to give away a giant alarm clock, the PWO??? Yow. Fans around the ring start booing, heh. Toga Steve comes out next, RWJ asks if that beer is glued to his hand. A kid gets a glitter lamp. Rip Mystic comes out next, he asks the PWO to do a county board sucks chat, its VERY LOUD. He gives away the Gamecube. They bring out the Mississippi Madman next and everyone clears the ring while the crowd sings along. Madman yells the number and come to get your gift, a little girl wins and is very relunctant to get in to claim the gift. Arson comes in next and announces he's handsome and gives away a CD player. They bring out Eric Logan next and give away a Slip'N'Slide and digital camera. They bring out Jason Wells who sat out after that nasty bump last month to hand out a gitter lamp. LPC comes out in a foul mood to give away a gift. The crowd wants Ricky the Ref to give a gift away. Danger Doug Fraze is brought out to give a gift. JJ Tank comes out for another drawing. The fans call for Rian Cruz to come out to give away video games. Michael Shard comes out to give out a boom-box. Benz comes out to give away the last prize, he still have a troublesome knee that's keeping him out of the ring. Finally Scotty Cash comes out and throws an arm wrestling contest with a little kid and hands him $50. And that's it from this year's Alexis Homeier Memorial Tournament. NMW raised about $1000 for the Mothers For Water Safety Coalition.

The Verdict: As with any number of tournaments, matches go by quick cause they're supposed to. I kinda tire of 4GQ members cheating to advance every time and somehow miss the order giving by Witchy Watson last year to really enforce the rules. Anyway, things picked up in the last three matches and we had two shocking title changes and a big finish in the tourney. Five hours of wrestling in all, fans got their monies worth. Not necessarily the greatest show of all time, but it was the greatest for other more important reasons. Thumbs up.
