The Sangamon County Board is filled with a bunch of incompetent boobs. They can't get their facts straight, one person says one thing, another says something different, and thus NMW is without a venue for Boiling Point. The Fraase family are a couple of paranoia schizophrenic dopeheads who think they can prevent Bradfordton Rd. from becoming the next Veterans Pkwy. and are using their board seat to attempt bulldozing a $700,000 piece of property by starving the owner of the property to sell at a big loss so they can swipe it up on the cheap. Latest excuses to close it down: The septic tank is designed for 150 people maximum, and with 300 in attendance it will back up in her yard and claims it HAS backed up in her yard. Yeah right, only way THAT could happen is if all the toilets in that building are flushed continuously for three hours. And the abject paranoia these two retarded bums have in themselves, if a variance was granted to allow small scale parties in that building, they scream that the owner of the USA Sports Center would use it as a backdoor way of bringing back the Club 10 teen center. Yeah right. The other stupid claim was that walking from the other lot to park along Bradfordton Road to the sports center was too dangerous. WRONG. It's LESS dangerous than parking at ANY of the grass lots around the IL State Fairgrounds and crossing Sangamon Avenue! *I* should know! I've walked them both, and Bradfordton Road has a WIDE side of the road to walk on far away from passing cars. Bottom line, Tom Fraase, the elected family board member is CORRUPT and CROOKED, and Randy Armstrong who runs the zoning commission is an IMCOMPETENT MORON who can't keep his underlings consistent on anything. These two need to be replaced by someone with at least HALF a brain. As for what NMW will do for a new building...Southeast High School has been gracious enough to rent out their gym for the next show so we'll see how it goes.

Yesterday evening up in the Quad Cities Scott County Wrestling, Hardcore KC beat the Mississippi Madman in a last man standing match that went for a half hour, Madman had a busted lip from a Van Daminator. Mr. Elite won his four-way match that featured Colt Cabana to hang on to his SCW Heavyweight title.

The previous weekend of 8/14-8/15 there was a series of exhibition matches held at the Super Wal-Mart parking lot as a fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network. No rap sheet review will be forthcoming on the 14 hours of wrestling but here are the results from there:

Taking pies to the face: Billy Morgan, myself (bleh), Chip the Security Guard, & Ricky the Ref. The pies in the face deal, fans were given the chance to plunk down money to splat someone with a pie. Well the wrestlers took up a collection to give me one. I wasn't thrilled cause I was on my way out to see what ended up to be a HORRIBLE Intergalatic show down the street and didn't have time to take a shower. So I plunked down more money to splat the person who was giving me the pie and removed my shirt. Alas they ran out of whip cream so I said just shove his face in the mat into what came off my face and all the wrestlers did just that with me wiping off my hands in his hair.

After this show was over, I went over to the Four Seasons sports complex on the SSE side of town to watch the NMW All Star softball team play for the first time. Unfortunately they have yet to win a game, and I can see why, the umpire is a clueless nimrod who makes bad call after bad call. After seven innings they lost 14-13 and bad calls cost them the game. Next Sunday they are playing the season end tournament, I plan to go out and cheer them on.

Your ring announcer is WQLZ's Slappy. No commentary team for this show today so I sat in the audience and acted like a fan again, wished I had not forgotten markers to do my signs...bleh. Weather conditions outside: temperatures were in the middle 80s, low humidity, good breeze, clear skies with BRIGHT sunshine, and the canvas was HOT. The crowd milled in and out throughout the show, so the audience grew and shrank at various times.

"Cruiserweight Redneck" Earl Grissom (11-11-0-1) 5'10" 170lbs. Rushville, IL vs. Hardcore KC (2-5) 5'7" 170lbs. Kansas City, MO - KC has to be quite banged up. Earl gets the full nelson right away, KC shoveoff and hits a drop kick. Clothesline KC, suplex gets two. Armdrag, hip toss, slam KC gets two. Spinning neckbreaker Grissom, legdrop, leg snap, headbutt to the groin, suplex, elbow, knee slam. Earl with the whip reverse, KC eats a boot, Earl misses the sunset flip. Drop kick KC gets two. Earl kicks away, shoulderblocks, ten punch count ending with a bite, clothesline, Earl puts on an inverted sharpshooter and KC gives it up. Yep KC didn't have much recharging time after that brutal last man standing match but ugh, he needs to get on a win streak BAD.

"Rather CRAPPY" Bradley Stephens (7-8) 6'0" 225lbs. Las Vegas, NV w/ WQLZ's Mikey vs. "The Freshman" Matt Boston (3-5-0-1) 5'8" 135lbs. Carbondale, IL - Mikey runs his mouth that the whole crowd should stand up and appreciate Stephens' talent. Yeah, Stephens has been on a five-match losing streak and resorted to taking Sage Ramsey's own mother hostage to get him to lose the title. Thus, he is most definitely rather crappy. This one was added at the last minute. Brad kicks away, slam whip clothesline, inverted atomic drop. Freshman gets a crossbody, drop toe hold, back body drop. Brad takes off, Boston chases, MIKEY clotheslines the Freshman and mugs him at ringside! He throws him in and Brad gets two. Brad with the rake, choke on the ropes. Brad Irish whip, Boston gets the flying headscissors, then a variation. Whip reverse SPLASH Stephens! Mikey cheats some more, someone throw him out! Brad tosses him, Mikey rams him into the pole. Toss in, whip hip toss into facebuster gets two. Brad slams him, waits about a year to go to execute the rather charming elbow off the second rope and misses AGAIN. Whip wheelbarrow bulldog Boston gets two. Matt chops away, whip reverse Brad half suplex into a facebuster and it's over. Yep, "Rather Crappy" breaks his losing streak on the little guy on the roster and hits the move AGAIN after the bell to act like an arse.

Atlantic City, NJ w/ Ms. Rian Cruz - Interesting that Ms. Cruz joined the Marvel in his corner. By the way, they finally came up with an official name for KC & Marvel--Maximum Impact. Lockup to the corners, Smith with a takedown, shoveoff, Guy bails. Lockup, headlock Shane, whip crossbody gets two. Armdrag, armbar Shane, shoveoff armdrag, armbar into the crossarm breaker. Guy picks him up from there and powerbombs him! Forearm shots by Guy, slam gets two. Throwdown by Smith, atomic drop is blocked, rollup by Shane gets two. Clothesline by Smith gets two, enzuigiri misses, camel clutch, Shane tries to lift him, Smith jump sits on him. Back to the camel clutch, Shane stands up and drops him backward. Side suplex by Smith gets two. Smith chokes away, Cherry Malone hops on the apron, oh great. Guy whip reverse splash attempt is caught, powerslam. Smith goes up, spin around moonsault MISSES! Enzuigiri by Shane, Cherry jumps in the ring, Rian Cruz jumps in and slugs away, girls fight on the mat. Guy tackles Shane, Smith dumps Cruz out. Samoan Drop by Shane, Cherry gets a LOW BLOW, rollup Smith gets three! BULLCRAP! Ricky the ref should had been getting Malone out of the ring instead of just lollygag after the catfight was broken up.

Sage tries to shake hands but Toga with a belly to belly suplex, he chops away, shoulderblock. Sage flips him around and chops away. Whip clothesline Sage, back breaker, headbutt, turnbuckle smash. Whip to the corner, Sage fetches the frat plank, Toga SPEAR! Plank shot by Toga, choke, then dumps him out. Apron slam Toga, rail ram, Toga slugs away, ram to the apron. Sage rails Toga, Sage fetches a chair, Toga goes in. Sage puts the chair in the corner, Sage with the whip, reverse Toga, Sage crashes into the chair. Toga chairshots away, Sage pickup and a bit of a sloppy slam on the chair. Plank shot Sage, whip gutshot Sage, choke with the plank. Head shot Sage gets two. Whip reverse HAZING inverted spinning neckbreaker gets two. Toga sets up the chair, DDT gets two. Chairshot gets two. Elbow, splash Toga gets two. Toga charges, Sage back body drop over the top rope. Match took way too long and making it a hardcore match served little purpose, especially since they didn't use the weapons that were to come later. Guys were practically outta gas and moving in slow motion due to the heat and the black leather pants.

Kidd has what looks to be one of those Elvis outfits and a wig. Lockup, armdrag LPC, lockup snap mare, the wig comes off and LPC tears it up and tosses it away. Lockup, slam LPC he goes for a cover but you have to get the weapon FIRST! Armdrag, hip toss Kidd. Whip LPC back body drop, chops, kicks. Whip reverse Kidd splashes LPC, he yanks up LPC's shirt and chops him harder. Whip spinebuster LPC, he goes up, Kidd trips him, then does a tip toss off the top rope! Shoulder ram to the corner by Madman, shoulderblocks, choke, nerve hold Madman. Danger fights out of it, chop block, figure four. Madman turns it over, hits a clothesline, slam. Madman goes UP to the top rope but gets crotched. Danger hits a SUPERPLEX with the 400 pound man off the top rope! That only gets two, Danger whip side slam attempt but he can't lift him up. Madman grabs him for the 5th Floor double chokeslam. BIG SPLASH Madman! Madman goes to the TOP ROPE, SPLASH off the TOP ROPE! It's OVER! Big displays of strength, but they were moving pretty slowly out there.

(c)"The Overachiever" Billy Morgan (11-8) 173lbs. Riverton, IL w/ PHD vs. Scotty Cash (9-11-1) 175lbs. "Yo Mammas House" w/ Benz - The ref has to really reach to get that belt up there cause that rope's pretty high. But Morgan wants to put that belt up there and slings it up there. PHD has a box of Twinkies, but Benz steals them and throws them to the crowd. Since Morgan likes using weapons during regular matches so much, this should be HIS type of match. Cash back body drop, clothesline, clothesline over the top rope. Cash stomps away, into the rail, shot to the gut, Cash puts the ladder in already, sliding dropkick by Morgan, PHD tries to sneak up and hit Cash with a cane, Benz steals it and stuffs a Twinkie in PHD's mouth and chases him to the back. Good, a straight one-on-one match. Morgan crossbody on Cash, knocks him with the ladder. Morgan fetches the weapons, panshots, a NO PARKING wooden folding sign is set up in the middle of the ring. Morgan fetches a table, trashcan with stuff. Morgan sets up the ladder, table, Cash in the ring, Morgan caught him, can shot, choke, stompaway. Cash trayshot to the face! Laddershot on Morgan! Cash canshot on the back. Cash suplex on the ladder, ladder spun into his face. Another ladder is fetched, the ladders are set up together on the rails, panshot, trayshot, Morgan throws Cash over the top and he hits and rolls off the ladder. Morgan throws the trash can on top of him. Watch out kids in the front row! Morgan throws the ladder into Cash, kick. Morgan toss in, puts him on the table, he sets up the ladder and climbs up, Cash cuts him off, side suplex into the table but Cash took the worst of it! Cash slowly gets up, shot to the head, Cash tries to knock the belt off the rope. Cash hits Morgan with the parking sign, Morgan has a HUGE cut on him, how'd that happen? Stupid kids call it ketchup, Cash lays the ladder on Billy and drops it on him. Cash slingshot senton over the ladder! Cash puts the ladder in the corner, Morgan is bloody, he's rammed into the parking sign. Cash gets the sign and a pan, cymbal clash! Cash whip reverse crash into the blue ladder over the top into the orange ladder! Morgan goes for ANOTHER table! Masking tape is tossed in, trash can to the gut, the head. Here comes a chair! BAM! BUMP sign is pulled out! Shot to the gut! Can is tossed in, shot to the head Morgan. He's quite dazed, Cash gets in the worst possible position on the apron...LOW BLOW! Fight on the top, ROCK BOTTOM from the top rope! Both are down, Cash gets a pan, slaps Morgan with it. Cash kicks the parking sign into Morgan and breaks it. Chair in play...Cash puts up two chairs and the BUMP sign across it. Superkick Morgan! Panshot to the chest, canshot to the gut! Morgan stomps away, throws the can at Cash. Morgan pickup, kick, DDT. Morgan drops the ladder, puts Cash on it. Morgan goes outside, Cash nails him, chairshot to the side, Cash sets up the BUMP table again. BLOCKBUSTER Morgan! 18 minutes passed, Cash stops a chairshot, Morgan can't hit his target, Cash sneaks under the ring, nails Morgan, puts the ladder on it, stomps on him from the middle rope! Morgan is dripping blood worse now! Dumb kids think that DOESN'T hurt! Morgan aborts an attempt up the ladder by Cash, Morgan goes up, 21 minutes, drops an elbow on Cash! Morgan goes for Sliced Bread #2 but gets THROWN THRU THE TABLE ON THE FLOOR!!! MORGAN IS FINISHED!!! Cash has free ride to scale the ladder, he climbs up, Morgan is barely moving, Cash has got it!

WINNER and NEW CHAMP: Scotty Cash pin -> (10-11-1) 22:10 mins. ***½

Morgan is out, Cash is down on the mat, EMTs come out to check on Morgan who isn't looking too good. Cash slowly gets up, Morgan has to be helped to the back...thankfully he wasn't injured but he was quite banged up and not moving around too good. Decent ladder match, though I've seen a couple I liked better than this one so what can you do.

The Verdict: FINALLY ACTUAL WRESTING has returned to the state fair! That's all I really wanted! When you have a wrestling show you have WRESTLING on it! That's what I was expecting last weekend and didn't get it. We got it this weekend, and hopefully fair officials will invite NMW back next year. They do not plan to put this show out on video but they say they will put matches from the show as extras on DVD releases. We'll see. Hot sun was a problem throughout the show so some of these guys slowed down, but still a good effort.
